What's interesting to me are the claims that DA2 was engineered for the console.  I don't disagree that this is likely true but I found it to be some odd design.  I played both games on both the Xbox and the PC and I found the interface of Origins easier in both cases than DA2.  Put another way, Origins was a better console experience (looking purely at gameplay and interface not more subjective problems such as story depth and the like) than DA2 was, even though the latter seemed to be aimed at console gamers.  I found both games much eaiser to deal with on the PC overall (with the sole exception of character creation in DA2 which is just stupid on the PC since there are only sliders), but if DA2 was based around the console, I find the final manifestation to be... curious.

Thanks for the summary, for a moment I was considering reading all this :D

It's not worth the read, really.  I was somewhat passionate about my stance to begin with, (I do actually think a lot of the complaints people make are pretty dumb....) but about halfway through it, I realized my words were being twisted and misconstrued and falling on deaf ears.  And then I was being cursed at and... Right around there, I sort of just started to say stuff to see how mad I could get those two.

Then again, some of it may be funny.  It might be worth a read?  I can't say I'm particularly proud of it, though.  I mean, I don't think either one of us actually won the internet with our arguments.

As of yesterday I have completed the demo version of Dragon Age 2 and I must say that while graphics look better I am not impressed. Started with a Rogue like I always did in DA:O or DA:A.
1. I am forced to play a guy with a beard who looks 30-40. (Ok it is demo so some things are "turned off"
2. I have no inventory I can go to... (Another thing turned of due to the Demo)
3. So I am forced when looting a corpse to choose if I want to be Ranged or Melee... How weird can you get. (Demo)
4. The combat system is just strange... A huge bit too much action. He does jumps, slashes, turning slashes and whatever else he does like he is possessed or something. I grow mortally tired just looking at him fight...
5. The ability tree when leveling might look nice, but the old system were it was all clear next to each other instead of a molecule shaped thing which has my abilities looks strange and would take a lot of getting used to.
6. If a little bit more time was taken to create openings for more races Dwarves and Elves alike could even become exiled or something, but 1 race I find lacking. I don't like playing Human, Dwarves I liked to play in DA:O.

IHowever I do like the new graphics... Most of them except... The Dragon who was Flemeth and Flemeth herself was to different compaired to the DA:O High Dragon and Flemeth so that would take a little geting used to. (looks a lot like the evil stepmother from disney's sleeping beauty)
The fully voiced speach from my own character is good, a serious DA:O flaw.
The whole communication system in place the Diagolue Wheel at first glance seems not so much better, but more a clarification of your intended tone. In DA:O some responses would seem fun intended, but were just the opposite. This system is better, being serious, fun or whatever is good, but at its proper time.

All in all it could be a fun game to play, but by far it will not be close to the game that Dragon Age: Origins was and still is. I can buy the game now for €19,99, perhaps when the game itself will have become cheaper I might consider it... As of yet I have to really think about wanting to play the whole game. When I intend to start playing I also want all DLC's so that will cost me even more.

You didn't succeed did you? I was laughing at you all the time rather than being mad. And yes you are right
"neither one of us actually won the internet with our arguments"
but you were proven to be a fool - THAT IS A FACT - and that is all that matters to me.

Besides i don't care whether you are passionate or not - respect others' opinions or be quiet.

If all you want is to give a feedback to Bioware stick to the offical threads like this one :

This is called 'Trolling'. At least it's nice that you have introduced who you are.

I wouldn't technically call what I was doing trolling, and I certainly haven't admitted to that.  I mean, I actually made valid arguments in my posts backed up with evidence.  You just simply don't accept the evidence because you don't agree with me - which is fine.  I don't expect you too.  The thing is, I never said something that wasn't true.  But I did say things in a way that were implying you were being an unnecessary douche.  And... you can't say I didn't anger you, because you said "People like you ****** me off."  Myabe that was your boyfriend though - I lost track and I can't be bothered to look it up.  A troll usually says stuff they don't really care about just to initiate grief.  You were greifing me way before I started.  I was just paying you back in kind.

As for me posting when I don't care about someone else's opinion?  You miss the point here, bro.  This is a public forum - me accepting others' opinions isn't a prerequisite for me to engage the forum.  I'm still not sure how me saying these complaints are non-issues really has anything to do with you as a person, anyway?  I literally have't said anyting about you, except how immature you are behaving.  Someone created this thread that asked a particular question.  I pretty much answered it more thoroughly than anyone else in this thread thus far, while basically telling everyone who comes up with these nitpicky complaints, that there issues are not important.  And to me - they aren't.  Why is that such a hard thing for you to understand?  You and your boyfriend started to go ape-**** over this.  It's real fun when you take someone's post and pick it apart, line-by-line.  Anyone can do that.  I could do that, but I decided years ago to not be a douche on the internet.

It seems to me the only people here really trying to keep someone from voicing their opinion - is you and that other guy.  I mean, If we have a right to have opinions, and we should respect each others' opinion, then you really need to respect my opinion, that your opinion is ridiculous.  You literally haven't shown me any respect in this thread, from the time you said "hello".  In fact, you didn't even say hello.  You did call me a "******" though.  So, eat it?

No problem. I'll respect your opinion. Now you listen to mine and respect it :
Your opinions (which btw you are calling FACTS) are bunch of nonsense and you are a poor troll.

Have a nice day. I'am done with you.

DA2.

Nothing wrong with DA:O, but I just liked your party members more in DA2. The combat as well was better IMO

No... I don't have to respect your opinion.  That's YOUR rule.  My rule is that your opinions don't matter.  And I stand by my rule.  Just as you should stand by yours.

Origins.

While the writing is still on par, I do have a couple of issues with the sequel. Mainly the lack of any proper journey, as is pretty much expected to be present in this genre. My second complaint would be the apparent lack of any relevant choices: most of them occur on an interpersonal level, which would be fine if there also were some political or world-shaping ones to be made... alas, there were almost none of these, the biggest one actually being bound to Hawke's personality being aggresive.

Which is also my final issue with the game (and BioWare games in general): Roleplaying being restricted by indirectly linked morality meters.

I liked both of the games but I found Dragon age 2 to be more enjoyable because I enjoyed the story more and found some of the companions more interesting.

The combat is slightly better than in DA:O (the combat was insanely boring in Origins imo), but nearly everything else is inferior. The only redeeming feature was that the party banter was pretty entertaining.

I don't think I've ever read a more hilarious group of threads than the ones this topic contains. The insults reached such epic proportions I was waiting for the lockdown, but hoping it wouldn't occur so I could enjoy a few more laughs!

In all honesty, I regret that my standpoint on the actual topic was derailed because some people couldn't handle it.  I did make solid points in my initial post, and I think overall, it was rather successful in portraying my views on the actual question the thread was created for.  But, I am not the kind of guy who really enjoys being harrassed, simply because I publicly state that the opinions of people I don't even know, really don't matter to me.  I would think that it was just understood - but obviously it bothers some people that I would have the audacity to remind them.

At any rate - you're welcome for the laughs.  I'm surprised it wasn't locked, too, really.

I'm a troll because I actually like DA2; because I am prepared to defend it; and because I think 90% of the complaints people have about DA2 are non-sense?  I'm a troll because I honestly, coherently, and rather politely answered the question that the thread was created for, whereby I was immediately and unpolitely harrassed?  I'm a troll simply because I have an unpopular opinion and I can state exactly WHY I have that opinion?  I'm a troll because I think it's okay to defend my perspective against someone who's first response toward me was a harrassement and whose subsequent replies toward me were just insults including name calling: moron and ******?

So like - are you guys ever going to stop blowing one another, or should we all just come back some other time when you aren't stuffing each others' face?

And quite frankly I don't give two beans about your opinion either. I don't give a damn that you and I disagree, but any merits to your arguments just got negated when you made these comments. I like people who don't agree with me, politely. You just proved you aren't all that polite.

Origins was and still is a superior game. DA2 has several gaping flaws and it was clearly rushed. The only good thing I can say about it is that the combat was quicker but it's also to quick and needs to be slowed down a bit.

I felt the same way about the combat, there is a sweet spot, I think, between DAO's speed (which doesn't bother me surprisingly now that I am replaying again) and DA2's.

Played Both Games and I have to say DA2 was a huge disappointment. Don’t get me wrong Origins had its flaws but it is miles above DA2. I'm thankful my friends told me to wait before purchasing it at full price which will be how I treat all Bioware games from this point on.

Anyway, I love Origins more. There are certain features of DA2 that please me, such as a fully-voiced character, the skills and the companions.

There is a reason DAO won awards and critical accolades. I don't see DA2 winning gaming awards. DAO was flawed but fantastic. DA2 is flawed and mediocre. My biggest disappointment with DA2 is that I saw it's potential epic-ness and knew what it could have been.

Well that and the repetitive dungeons/areas really made it feel as if I played six playthroughs with two. Sorry, dev team, *cringes*, but it did. Wounded Coast was soooo pretty but I got so sick of it in the end.
