This is compilation BEST OF THE BEST "RAICE 2011"
Have fun and a good laugh reading it

All the demonstrates is him being dismissive and being a bit provocative towards the end in response to the personal insults from both you and cfsteer.

You yourself have been just as dismissive towards the arguments of others even discounting your responses to Raice.

If there is ONE argument that won't work for me it's the "Look at how many awaaaaaaaaaards DAO won!" routine.

I'll explain why.......

With opera. Yes, the "DAO" of music as far as I am concerned.

"Opera Singers" like Sarah Brightman, Paul Potts, Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins win MAJOR awards for their "operatic" recordings. Katherine Jenkins ruining Carmen's Habanera (Bizet) is one of the most watched "operatic" clips on Youtube. Even though she CANNOT sing this piece. Technical fact, she cannot. SHE gets awards for THIS caterwauling:

www.youtube.com/watch

While this lady whom no one outside of the "core fans" knows well enough to care about her winning awards, will never receive a tenth of Jenkins' accolades:

www.youtube.com/watch

Yet she sings this to PERFECTION. (Technically. And her interpretation also dwarfs Jenkins' juvenile "acting").

All there is to awards, only that the gaming industry is even more shallow than the classical music biz these days.;)

Drama Queen Strikes again.

Opera just wow...the fat lady has sung..take a nap already.

Ah, more stereotypes. Funny, esp. since the actual opera singer I linked to is anything but fat in that clip.

But hey, you didn't watch it, just like with DAII, you offer naught but name calling and assumptions.

Dissmisive to others? Example please ?
Last time i remember i proved you wrong about number of abilities by giving you cold hard FACTS (numbers). You gave me nothing in return to back up your view on that matter so i had nothing to dismiss.
You never even responded to that post so i don't know what you are talking about.

Edit : Should i quote that post for you to refresh your memory a little ?

Please

We have been a bit dismissing cause he has been dismissive All Along, a person who doesn't show respect for others opinions doesn't deserve respect.

During my post i dismissed his Terms cause i was stating that they were opinion, which many of them were , a few weren't (Quote From Raice "Fact - DA2 has a compelling story with an intriguing cast"
Opinion, i wasn't Engaged, so obviously is no fact, cause otherwise i wouldn't be able to deny it.)

And now you are defending a guy who willingly attmited that he was trolling ( Quote from Raice "I sort of just started to say stuff to see how mad I could get those two") ?
oh, fantastic *Claps* that's just *Claps* Great, awesome* Claps*

Even though Dragon Age: Origins had one of the most cliched storylines ever, the fact that it had a story, and some semblance of narrative progression puts it way ahead of the curve, compared with DA2.

DA2's lack of a coherent storyline and disjointed narrative limited how much individual characters were able to develop. Hence, most characters stuck to the sort of personalities that stayed with them until the end of the game.

There was no excitement, no sense of rising action, nor any sense of falling action. Hence, the game's visible lack of progression dulled any sort of suspense within the player, and perhaps even discouraged a few players from finishing the game. It was boring. Hardly entertaining. When Anders "did his thing", I was surprised by how abrupt it was, and how little the game did to build suspense up to that moment.

Poor writing contributes to DA2's demise.

Well that and the repetitive dungeons/areas really made it feel as if I played six playthroughs with two. Sorry, dev team, *cringes*, but it did. Wounded Coast was soooo pretty but I got so sick of it in the end.

If you really think DA2 won't win ANY of awards, then that is simply ignorent. It will win awards, probaly not the big ones (best RPG, GOTY ect) but it will win awards.

Name ONE.

Best Graphics? HEEEEEEEEELLLL NOOO!!!
Best Story? PFFF
Best RPG? AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!!
Best Pc or Console Game? Yeah Right.
Best Soundtrack? Nope
Best Voice Acting? No

and many others, i don't see it winning anything important.

A little off topic, but Austin has one of the best opera groups around, Austin Lyric Opera. And one of the prettiest locations, our new cultural arts center. It's quite the experience.

I apologise for butting in, but have you read this thread, Perse?

Actual discussion died off like 5 pages ago.

Besides a "which is better" type thread isn't exactly conductive to rational, objective discussion. It's the internet, so that's rare enough as it is. But the tone of the thread doesn't exactly help.

For what it's worth, I feel like Origins is a better game. In gameplay and execution, I cannot see how Origins is worse off than Dragon Age 2. This, combined with my subjective opinion on how Dragon Age 2's story fails to captivate me due to failing in several key aspects (lack of narrative influence, story/gameplay segregations, etc) and the fact that I found most of the cast had poor characterisation, it's my opinion that Origins is a superior game.

@xkg NOOOOOOOO!!!! I need your graphs!

And yep, DAO still better.  I felt closer to my sister Rica, playing my dwarf duster, and to Leske, by the time I left Orzammar with Duncan than I felt to Carver or Bethany (depending on who got curb stomped by an ogre, left in the Deep Roads, or leaves).

Playing DAO again, what little time I spend with my "family" and "friends" before conscription, really helped me bond with them. Rather than say, being thrown into a demo battle with one sibling, then character cutomization, then running with my family only to have my mother be a **** and my brother or sister get made into human jam. It all happens a little too quick.

Darling, don't be so defensive. It’s not my fault you blew a gasket a few threads back. Anyways, isn't derailing what you do best? After all, it was your conniption that did it in the last thread.

Anyways, as you say lets get back on track. Just remember to leave the Opera Singers and Doctors out of it.
