It's my belief that Origins takes a whole year, and Awakening begins immediately after (possiby 3 weeks after) and it took 3-4 months to defeat the Darkspawn in Amaranthine.

I don't buy the whole "6 months after Origins" thing we were told.

Bioware needs to give us an official timeline of all the events

Well considering when you do Oghren's companion quest.  Felsi has a baby in-between the two game.  I don't know what Dwarf pregnancy lengths are but I'd think it's some months.

Also if you're a mage at some point in the story Wynne says it's been a year since you left the Circle Tower and that happens before you even get to the Landsmeet.

Well again, on the broader scale at what point in Origins did Oghren do the deed ? Some time in 9.30, or 9.31 ? Again, the timing of specific individual events in the game ends up being very fluid, such that its quite feasible that Felsi gave birth towards the end of, or just after the end of Origins.

There is no requirement that Felsi  has to become pregnant only right at the end of Origins.

Um Oghren leaves with you after you get him and Felsi back together. She can't get pregnant until after you kill the Archdemon since Oghren is with you and you are traveling around either getting more treaties, or going to the Landsmeet. I don't see how he got her up the duff before the final battle is over and he says in the hall he wants to look her up (with her standing right there, that always gives me a giggle...that was an oopsie by BioWare).

Do we even know when Felsi went topside? Maybe she was pregnant when she left, because Oghren did sleep with her when she was in Orzammar.

We also don't know how long dwarven pregnancies last. We know human pregnancies are 9 months tops. But humans and dwarves are two different races.

OH oops forget my previous post then. Though I would think that she would have mentioned it to him..along the lines of, "oh you come back after knocking me up you bastard?" Just seems strange that she would act so casual about meeting him if she was preggers already.

Beat me to it.  If she was already pregnant I can't imagine her staying silent.  Plus I thought the whole idea was that you helped them rekindle their relationship and then after the adventure they got together.  But if she was pissed about not getting attention in Awakenings, I can't see her not being pissed by an absentee Oghren while she was pregnant.

Also no one has addressed Wynne saying its been a year since you left the tower, and that point in the game not even being near the end of it.

That's assuming she even knew. They don't have pregnancy tests and ultrasounds in Thedas Image IPB

Though of course eventually she would know, but maybe she left a few months before Oghren did and didn't realize she was actually pregnant until after Oghren left the Spoiled Princess.

I wonder if dwarves have morning sickness when they're pregnant? If they do, then ignore my post because she would've known.

Always possible! I made her pregnant in my fanfic after the Blight. ROFL! I had such fun announcing the news to Oghren.

But yeah, totally possible she may not have known. Well, not all humans get morning sickness, though the tired part, seems to be the norm. I had a friend who was sick her whole pregnancy! UGH!:sick:

Which was really confusing, because isn't Ferelden supposed to have winters? Passage of time was just so badly done in that game. It's little wonder DA2 ended up how it did, at least with the time-gaps in the framed narrative.

I always thought the timing for Anders was way off. But then again, timelines haven't been BIoWare's strong suit. So I figured it was something they had to fudge. I hate the new Janders, so I just made up that the prisoner in the cage escaped (he was really an apostate himself) and he stole Anders' identity and ran to Kirkwall after Ostagar fell. Anders really didn't do it. ROFL! Sorry I have to be silly, no coffee yet.

That was one of the flaws of DAO, no seasons really. Except it's winter when you return to Ostagar. Really needed some weather changes in DAO.

What a simple answer, and the better game is Dragon Age Origins.

Dragon Age 2 has 3 good things: new combat system, Merrill, and graphics. Which graphics is a given since the game is newer.

Customization, story, and everything else for DAO is better.

well Ostagar was covered in snow.

But I'm wondering if that was due to it being winter (Ostagar and the Wilds are near some sort of frozen tundra where barbarians live) or the Blight, since the time after a Blight is called The Thaw. Probably due to the weather, as I'm reaching.

Heck no, that night after you get them back together, Oghren slips away from the party camp and well....

Absolutely, to put it bluntly I could, if I chose, run around most of Ferelden doing nothing prior to initiating the final plot point that brings about the assault on Denerim. For hundreds of hours.

And no time at all would pass. I do hope we get seasons properly depicted in future games.

And it must have been subzero temperatures, seeing that Cailan's corpse was so well preserved, no matter when you do the quest.

DAO is mightily confusing re: passage of time. Distances too. How many days to go from Redcliffe to Denerim, again? (after the Landsmeet). And how many from Amaranthine to Vigil's Keep? (After Amaranthine burning).

He doesn't.  If the warden tells her to go get her, Oghren makes it clear he's going to keep her waiting.

I know that it takes at least 2 weeks to go from Orzammar to the Circle, and one day to go from Redcliffe to the Circle and the same for the Circle to Redcliffe.

Yep, but following saying that Oghren got very, very drunk.....and can't remember much after that. Obviously alcohol doesn't inhibit dwarfen sexual prowess.

It takes days, even weeks, every drop of blood is a Day in the game.. I for one do not wish to sit in the computer for days waiting for the character to get to a city or town, exemple: today I hit go to denerim from redccliff, a week later.... oh still near the forests.. crap give us mounts please! lol.

And I don't want to see Morrigan doing it with Alistair, I skip the little movie in every game. The only one that really matter is the first night and the little kiss when my warden ask the Li to bed.;)

I could say that, Dragon Age 2 is the best. No one can matches this game. Although many lacks in Dragon Age 2. But, still I Love it. Dragon age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 are top notch.

That makes no sense though looking at distances involved, since Orzammar is much closer to the Circle than Redcliffe and both are accesible by major routes fot the most part......strange !

Yes it does take days for me too. But according to dialogs, you need two or three days to go from Redcliffe to Denerim, and two days from Amaranthine to Vigil's Keep. Now, look at the map. Something is very wrong here.

(Or could be that the road from Amaranthine to the Vigil is littered with obstacles while the one from Redcliffe to Denerim is a Magical Highway).

Or more likely it was due to:

"Hey, we're making a DLC where you go back to Ostagar but need to have it look at least a little different. What do we do?"

"Add some snow?"

"Sounds good."

But DA overall (Origins and DA2) handles the passage of time very poorly. Which is pretty bad considering it would seem the whole timeline aspect of going through Thedas is something they're trying to push.

I think they mentioned going to the Circle from Redcliffe by boat (both being lakeside). That could explain this.

Redcliffe to Denerim, along the highway takes a month.(counting drops of blood as the metric)

So, with no major highway to travel along, the Southron hills, edge of the wilds and the Brecilian forest to cross and get through, and unfavorable circumstances probably slowing down travel, I hazard to guess how long it would take Hawke and family  to travel from Lothering to Gwaren. (which is about the same distance as from Lothering to Denerim, ie 3 weeks travel in good conditions on a good road)

Probably well over a month...

Redcliffe to Lothering takes 8 days.
