Then I guess if your sibling becomes a Warden, you won't get the quest? Because on both of my playthroughs, my sibling hasn't become a Warden and I got the quest both times.

I haven't found it, second play thru and still didn't show, yes one of the run I made a warden, other a templar and still never got it.

My champions boots never spawns another bug.

My warden keep was saved, and Nathanial/sister were alive and got half of the keep.

So i think is a bug. Unbound quest is bugged too, and saving a girl or something is bugged too.

In my Origins saves I saved Vigils Keep and my companions. Nathaniel was not at the nest with me but he survived and I saved him In the deep roads. One thing troubles me though. Nathaniel said that I spared the Architect when in fact I killed him. I killed the Architect in all my play throughs. Why would he say that? Bug?

Yeah, I think this is a known bug.

Also, off the top of your head, do you know if you did the Fool's Gold quest in DA2? It's the quest in Act 2, starting in Hightown, where you're sent into the Deep Roads to find the missing dwarven sons.

Based on your information, what happened for you - not having Nathaniel with you at the Nest - is contrary to other information in this post, so there's some disconnect somewhere.

Finding Nathaniel:
To play this quest, you must be using an imported Dragon Age:Origins world state in which you played the Awakening expansion, recruited Nathaniel, and he was not killed in the siege on Vigils Keep. This is also available if you select the Martyr preset world state during the initial character creation process.

If you leave him at the fully upgraded Keep and you save the city does he survive like the Epilogue says or did Bioware make him die at the Keep?

Ahh...let's see.  I don't remember doing the fools gold quest.  I have been to the Deep Roads twice, once for the expedition and another time for Nathaniel.  No Nate was not with me at the Nest.  The ending said he lived and remained a warden untill some time later.  Maybe the Wardens are spreding untruths to keep the threat of Darkspawn on the horizon...Image IPB

This is good to know. My Awakening save traits should be like yours - in the ending he survived Vigil's Keep, remained a Warden, saved Fergus, all that. He wasn't with me at the Nest either. Yet I never got Finding Nathaniel in my first DA2 playthrough, though I did do Fool's Gold.

So my way is clear: this playthrough I'll ignore Fool's Gold and see if Finding Nathaniel shows up.

Yeah. I think you have to find his sister in Hightown or the Chantry Square sometime after you kill the Arishok the big Qunari guy.

I've heard the architect must live.

Yeah, she never spawned in my first playthrough. But see my first post in this thread, I think it was. The Dragon Age wiki currently states Finding Nathaniel cannot be done if Fool's Gold was done, which I did.

Well it must be a bug because I murdered the architect in all my play throughs.

It one big old glitch that I'm hoping Bioware fixes retroactivly so I don't have to start a new play through.

I wanted to resurrect this thread, regarding the whole Fool's Gold / Finding Nathaniel conundrum.

I used the DA2 Import Fixes project to correct for Nathaniel. Running the vault debug command before the fix install had Nathaniel dying at Vigil's Keep per my import (which, mind you, was not the case, as Nathaniel survived the siege and remained a Warden in my Awakening epilogue). After the fix install, the vault debug command rightfully and currently recognizes Nathaniel as alive and a Warden.

I've just started Act 2 with the character, and upon entering Hightown, Yevhen is present to offer Fool's Gold. So either the import fix project does not actually work, or else Fool's Gold is not excluded in a game where Nathaniel is alive.

I think he shows up if you spared the Architect. If you killed the Architect I know there was a bug that still had him show up. But his mission is looking for the Architect.

If you decided to save Amaranthine and you left Nate at the Keep when you fought the Broodmother , then Awakening saved his status as being dead.

It has nothing to do with the Architect. He will show up if the Architect is dead, and he has dialog that reflects that the Architect was killed.

This.

Seems the bug is in Awakening - if you save Amaranthine, it registers everyone left at the Keep as dead, even if you fully up-graded it and the epilogue slides say they survived.

The only ways to get Nate in DA2 are to save the Keep in DO:A, or to bring him with you if you save Amaranthine.
