While playing through Act 2, I noticed a distinct lack of sidequests. Being bothered by this, once I reached Following the Qun I went online and sure enough I hadn't done the sidequest Fool's Gold at the very least.
My qiuestion is, how do I find this quest? I've searched every map I could think of, talked to all companions and checked and rechecked my writing desk. I finished Inside Job to the spiders in the mine quest, hoping that would unlock it, but it didn't. I went further in the main plotline, and now I'm at Demands of the Qun and Aveline is out and out telling me it's the end of the Act and I should get my stuff together.
So, did I just miss it? Is Fool's Gold a quest you have to start before All that Remains, or some such? Or can I still track it down and complete it. If at all possible I'd like to start it, being something of a completionist. But mostly I just want to know that it is either gone or not; it would be incredibly frustrating to just finish the act off and not know whether I could have done more.

First, did Nathaniel die in your import or did you choose the Hero of Ferelden default import? If not, the quest doesn't start. If so, it should be found by talking to Yevhen.

Hmmm, I guess there is a problem with my import then. I recruited Nathaniel and he lived, but the quest Fool's Gold comes up for me. Guess my import that didn't work properly.

Nathaniel, as in from Awakening? I did import and he did survive. Though I haven't seen anything about Howe so far. Is it possible I've been foolish, and this is an Act 3 quest instead of an Act 2 quest?

I have the same problem. If you did Fool's gold and are in Act 3, can you tell me if you can still do Finding Nathaniel then? Pweez?
I posted a new topic hoping to get answers so I wouldn't have to reload a save just to do Finding Nathaniel if I had to skip Fool's Gold, but I got no answer.

I haven't Even Touched Awakening and I got The quest. Just Look for Yevhen in Hightown by wear you join Bartrand for the Deep roads expidition.
