 I should learn never to step foot on the forums in the wake of a game release. Everyone who hates the game seems to have nothing better to do but post thread after thread of negativity, while those who love it are too busy playing the game to come here (or perhaps they've just learned the lesson I haven't.)

In any case, I wanted to post so the Bioware team knows a lot of us out there love the game. I'm just finishing Act 1, and have been completely absorbed by the story, the quests, the combat, the companion interaction - THANKS Bioware, for making another AWESOME RPG! 

Things I love in Dragon Age 2 (no spoilers):

~ I love that my NPCs actually use their awesome abilities in combat, without me having to direct them to do so. 

~ I love the party banter - it was great in DA:O and that trend has continued here!

~ I love ALL the companions! I didn't think I would, but really, these are all very cool, unique characters. Merrill is adorable. Aveline is righteous and strong. Varric is my favorite dwarf character of all time. Anders is beautifully broken. Fenris is broody (heh!) without being over the top...seriously, I love them all! It's so hard to decide who I want in my party.

~ My rogue gets to do so many cool things with her abilities! THANK-YOU for revamping the classes to be so unique and special!

~ I love the way the story plays out, and how little things from our DA:O playthrough keep coming up here and there.

~ Combat runs so smoothly now! It reminds me of the difference between ME combat and ME2. Again, thank you. I love it!  Also, the difficulty Normal feels perfect for my style of play. Not too hard, not too easy. 

~ The way the qunari look now is AWESOME! I wish Sten had looked like this in DA:O.

~ There was a little bit of a learning cure to get used to the way the mechanics work in DA2 vs. DA:O. Going and hunting down companions to talk to, instead of having the party camp, the inventory screen and level up screens. But I've got the hang of it now, and I think it's much more streamlined.

~ The COLOR, my God the color!  Such a beautiful game.

I need to get back to my playthrough now, but thanks, Bioware. Once again, you've lived up to my high expectations for one of your games. Kudos. I anticipate many hours of entertainment from play and re-play, and isn't that the best compliment a player can give?
