They worked hard to deliver us this great RPG sequel just to have metacritic and their forums flooded with 4chan trolls who pirated the game and are now claiming it's garbage.  This same crap happened when Mass Effect 2 was released too I remember.
Bioware is my favorite game development company by far and I hope this negative backlash doesn't hurt morale over at Bioware.

I know it's not a forum policy but I really think Chris, and Stanley need to start banning people who talk trash about Bioware and their games.  I come to these forums as a fan to discuss my love of Bioware games with other fans.  Giving these haters free reign creates a hostile atmosphere for those who wish to talk about these great games in peace.

People who get banned from the forums ceratinly should not lose access to their game as what has reportedly been happening but 99 percent of these critics probably pirated the game anyways so it doesn't really matter in that case.

Don't feel bad for Bioware. A lot of the issues were brought on themselves with terrible PR for the game. Now that it isn't living up to expectations they have to deal with the backlash. Either the company grows or they crumble from this experience. They need to re-establish their AAA status with Mass Effect 3.

I wouldn't say they're all, hell I'd be surprised if even five of them were 4chan trolls. Many are people who are genuinely disappointed with Dragon Age II. Some of these people just so happen to be drama queens, acting as if Dragon Age II is, for lack of a better term, The Blight.

But anyway...

I can see this getting locked soon.

To be honest, I'm not a 4-chan troll but I'm hugely disappointed with the game.

I think the lead developer, reading what he has to say, is completely out of touch with the fans of Dragon Age, didn't like the things the majority of us liked about Origins, did like the things the majority of people wanted to be changed, and was just the wrong man for the job.

And should be fired.

Mass Effect is BioWare's baby, you need not worry about its quality...some of us just hoped there was room for 2 kids in that crib.

We got our answer...

Ahh, so what you are effectively saying is that people who paid for the game are those who vote in favour. Is that because, having parted with their cash they somehow feel honour bound to be non critical ?

I sense a false dilema rearing its head ( Ban those who are critical, seriously ?! You do Chairman Mao's spirit proud )

You're first point is completely false, if they had worked hard on dragon age 2 it would've taken alot longer than it did. They didn't work hard, working hard would mean that they wouldn't have to re-use alot of the same textures, re-use alot of the same NPC voice overs. Re-use the same area's over and over and over. Cutting corners isn't "working hard" it's called slacking off, using your brand name to get a bit of money, selling out a hugely reputable IP with a piece of software which is 100% flash with ZERO depth.

I wouldn't discredit all negative feedback as "4chan trolls". I've read many legitimate complaints that have been presented in a constructive manner. Just because some people are disappointed with the game and you happen to be enjoying it doesn't make them wrong, it's simply a difference of opinion.

That hard work has yet to be seen in the product they released.
It's pretty easy to blame a "4chan raid" on just about anything nowadays when the truth is that no such raid existed.
It's also pretty easy to discount differing, negative opinions of a game as "trolling" in order to simply discount the validity or worth of a criticism without cause or reason.
And finally, if you'll notice, the user score for ME2 on metacritic is MUCH higher than DA2's.

That's the spirit! The best way to deal with negative reviews is to silence the opposition.
I'd invoke Godwin's law or a quip about fascism. Although it would be relevant I feel it would also be superfluous.

4chan did not do this. dont be so stupid. if this was a raid, the numbers would be in the thousands all saying 0. not low hundreds mostly saying 2-5. I am sure a few neckbeards raged and gave it a 0 after playing the demo, but than, some of the 10's are just bull**** too.

And no, they should not ban people for having an opinion on the fourms. Perhaps if they listened to the fans, put effort into the game, didnt cut content, didnt have day one DLC, didnt change artstyle, didnt take away features, and well, made a proper game worthy of calling itself Dragon Age (or worthy of calling it a bioware game) this **** would not have happened. they took what fans loved about it and changed it, and as they have publicly stated, they did this to attract the CoD audience, and that they wanted to capitilise on DA:O and make money. the game was rushed. And TBH, i blame EA more than Bioware.

If  they can sit back and take the praise for ME2 and DA:O, they should also be mature enough to handle the criticisms from people about DA2.

As for feeling sorry for them, not a chance in hell. I doubt they even care anyhow.

There wasn't a 4chan raid, it's a myth. You see the exact same reviews on every site, Metacritic's spread is just so low that it's not developing a normal curve.

Nope, I don't feel sorry for Bioware. They deserve this backlash for the game they decided to make, and for calling this "Dragon Age 2" and not referring to this as a spin-off title (like Fallout New Vegas), which is what it should have been. They've made just as many design mistakes as the marketing team have made trying to promote the game and they need a good kick in the arse for this.

Also, this is an open forum. If Bioware didn't want to hear from these alleged pirates, they would limit the forums to game registered users only.

I feel like a complete sucker for helping advertise this game. I'll never let that happen again.

My personal rule of thumb: Never hype an EA game.

Nice strawman from yet another delusional poster.

Apparently 4chan must have taken over every single dragon age II forum on the net

/sarcasm.

Considering this game cost 60 bucks, I am well within my rights as a consumer to voice my dissatisfaction with it. I don't like it. I'm not a hater or a troll. I'm a customer. Period. If you liked the game, I'm glad, really. To state it bluntly - *I* - emphasis on I - think it is a dumbed down, sup par, action/rpg game - not their best work. I doubt it matters to them one way or the other, since they already have my money. Any criticisms I have I try to make constructive and civil, but I'm not going to shut my mouth because I may hurt someone's feelings.

The forums aren't an exclusive fanboy club, where we do nothing but heap praise on Bioware. They are here for feedback. Negative feedback is still feedback. If the designers can't handle it, they shouldn't be in the business they are in. Bioware isn't a charity, they create these things for profit. If a consumer feels what they are producing isn't up to snuff, the consumer should say so. A Bioware cheerleader's money isn't any better, or worth more, than mine.

I'm sorry, but I'm tired of seeing people assume anyone who doesn't bend over for Bioware and EA is a troll. You want to claim its their best game, good for you, I'm happy that you like it, really. But my opinion is just as valid as yours, and it should be heard.

People expect a higher level of quality from BioWare. Just like they expect a higher level of quality from Rockstar and Blizzard. That's a bad thing because...?
