I feel sorry for Bioware because its obvious that a lot of artistic talent when into individual parts of this game. However, because the game was rushed out and possibly mismanaged, all that great work did not come together to create a great experience in the end. So I feel sorry for that animator, texture artist, modeler, and writer etc. who put a lot of hard work into this product only to have it count for nothing.

Sadly, DA2 is not a great game IMO. Its ok and I'm enjoying it but it does not live up to origins in my mind. I am not from 4chan.

As this thread is starting to become unfocused, I will ask folks to please keep it on topic, and to keep the name-calling and insults out of it. THank you.

I can't really feel bad for them, positive or negative feedback should always be welcome. It allows you to figure out why a game has sucess or why it doesn't.

To feel sorry for Bioware is to feel sorry for EA, I would think, since 'Bioware' is just a brand name.  I doubt may members here feel sorry for EA.

Feel sorry, don't we all.

But I disagree with you saying it counted for nothing, DA2 is still a great game, it just felt incomplete. Nevertheless i'll still stick behind Bioware

You are an imbecile if you think being a fan of a company is insta-liking anything they feed you for 60 dollars. True fans (some of them mislabeled as "haters") will criticize the game with cause. I actually bought the game, thanks, and just because I think the game has major flaws doesn't mean I'm a brainless "hater". Look around. Do you think it's just a massive amount of people who just downloaded the game and are hating it for no reason? Do you even think your thoughts through?

I am a HUGE Bioware fan. Being a true fan means being HONEST with what you receive. Would you think someone was your TRUE friend if all they ever did was smile and nod? No! You want your friend to tell you if you do something bad or unintelligible. Just because we criticize the game and are pretty disappointed with it does NOT mean that we do not think any less than you do. In fact, we are actually trying to recommend ways for Bioware to make a better sequel, whereas all of you blind fanboys are just gulping it down and saying HOORAY!

I would rather Bioware read all the "hater" comments to see how to make a damn better game next time.

How very pretentious and arrogant. Never mind condescending. Must there be such division? So "true fans" MUST hate DA2? What a joke!

The game is great, it deffinatley has its flaws compared to Origins, and I AM upset from the recycled areas and lack of party armor customization, but the game isnt as bad as people on here are crying about. I just pray DA3 will adhear to all of the fans complaints.

I don't feel sorry for corporations. The fact is Bioware developed a product. Some people will like it and some will not. Depending on the critic reviews, feedback from consumers and sales, Bioware should look to improve the quality of their games. As a consumer we have choice to vote with our money. That being said, I think Bioware made design decisions to increase the audience.

Also in a forum, negative comments garner more responses. Hence, it seems like alot of people complaining but in reality it is not. If the game sells 1 million and only a few thousand voice their concerns, I doubt they will make drastic changes.

Goddamn. 4chan WAS NOT responsible for the bad reviews. The game was responsible for the bad reviews. There was never a raid.

I will be sticking behind Bioware because every developer hits a bump in the road every once in a while. Bioware is one of the few developers, IMHO, that consistently produces great games.

DA II was, I reckon, slightly too rushed. Most people disliked the change from the nameless hero to the voiced Hawke, and many disliked the new combat and dialogue wheel. Perhaps people would have taken these changes better if Bioware had been given more time to implement them, but at the end of the day, the changes were too large for a dev time so quick.

Still, I'd rather the Dragon Age series return to it's roots with the next game. If the next game is like DA: O, I will be more than ecstatic.

Keep on truckin' bioware, but please, ACCEPT the negative feedback and build upon it. Please don't dismiss it, because that will be your undoing.

I really hate to say it... I do.. but.. I told you so.. (You being the collective apologist defenders)

Every single worry I expressed about the game for the six months prior to it's release is in fact the major areas of weakness within the game. Dialogue wheel/voiced protag limits choice and depth, class restructuring limits choice, combat is too fast paced and horde/wave oriented, graphical fidelity is all over the map concerning quality, emotional connection is about as deep as ****** on a sidewalk etc etc. There were a number of us on here that kept hammering our concerns at Bioware all the while being called "haters", "trolls" and worse yet here we are with a sub-par game that the majority agrees is miles below the quality of Origins. Blind optimism never gets results or advances anything. Criticism is what forces and fosters refinement, evolution and innovation within all areas of development, not pointless rage criticism, but those of the constructive sort.

And to the OP, you can PM your buddies that love the game as much as you want, squealing about your enjoyment without having to make flame bait topics like this..

Helarious indeed, cause that is clearly Morrowind ran at highest visuals, and DA2 ran at lowest, both on PC.

In my opinion:

They sought to fix something that wasn't broken. Even the fighting sequences in the first game, albeit slow, was very realistic and tactical. Why take a masterpiece and turn it into something cartoonish. Don't change the formula.

Really?  Because here's one I just took in DX11, very high settings, high texture pack, 8x AA, 16x AF, occlusion, depth and blur... sidewalk character in lowtown..

Dude...That's Morrowind with the better bodies and elven faces community mod packs. Other is DA2 at lowest settings. Don't be an idiot. Bethesda didn't even have ANYTHING to do with that model on the left.

They worked hard to deliver us this great RPG sequel just to have metacritic and their forums flooded with 4chan trolls who pirated the game and are now claiming it's garbage.  This same crap happened when Mass Effect 2 was released too I remember.
Bioware is my favorite game development company by far and I hope this negative backlash doesn't hurt morale over at Bioware.

I know it's not a forum policy but I really think Chris, and Stanley need to start banning people who talk trash about Bioware and their games.  I come to these forums as a fan to discuss my love of Bioware games with other fans.  Giving these haters free reign creates a hostile atmosphere for those who wish to talk about these great games in peace.

People who get banned from the forums ceratinly should not lose access to their game as what has reportedly been happening but 99 percent of these critics probably pirated the game anyways so it doesn't really matter in that case.

Thousands of dead in Japan. Toddlers dying of hunger in Africa.

AND YOU FEEL BAD FOR BIOWARE??

Wish humans could be neutered.

You do know that people can feel bad for 2 different things at once, right? Like...It's possible to feel bad for those affected by the disasters in Japan AND for starving children in Africa AND for Bioware?

You DO know that it doesn't have to be one or the other, right?
