Helarious indeed, cause that is clearly Morrowind ran at highest visuals, and DA2 ran at lowest, both on PC.

Really?  Because here's one I just took in DX11, very high settings, high texture pack, 8x AA, 16x AF, occlusion, depth and blur... sidewalk character in lowtown..

That is awful.

They worked hard to deliver us this great RPG sequel just to have metacritic and their forums flooded with 4chan trolls who pirated the game and are now claiming it's garbage.  This same crap happened when Mass Effect 2 was released too I remember.
Bioware is my favorite game development company by far and I hope this negative backlash doesn't hurt morale over at Bioware.

I know it's not a forum policy but I really think Chris, and Stanley need to start banning people who talk trash about Bioware and their games.  I come to these forums as a fan to discuss my love of Bioware games with other fans.  Giving these haters free reign creates a hostile atmosphere for those who wish to talk about these great games in peace.

People who get banned from the forums ceratinly should not lose access to their game as what has reportedly been happening but 99 percent of these critics probably pirated the game anyways so it doesn't really matter in that case.

Thousands of dead in Japan. Toddlers dying of hunger in Africa.

AND YOU FEEL BAD FOR BIOWARE??

Wish humans could be neutered.

You do know that people can feel bad for 2 different things at once, right? Like...It's possible to feel bad for those affected by the disasters in Japan AND for starving children in Africa AND for Bioware?

You DO know that it doesn't have to be one or the other, right?

Yes, because on a day where thousands of people died due to a natural disaster, we should really take a minute of silence for the Bioware developers, getting paid in the 6 digits to rush a game. If I were a religious guy, I would totally keep David Gaider in my prayers, you know, say a couple of Ave Maria for that poor soul.

I can't DO ANYTHING about Japan outside of pray... I am not a thermo-nuclear analyst or engineer.

SIGH...

Irregardless, I've run the game at high and Dragon Age 2 doesn't look as bad as that in any facet.

They simply need to block users without a registered DA2 from posting on any DA2 forum, including General Discussion one.

Chances are those haters are either pirates or chickensh!ts who are afraid to use their real accounts.

Every other DA2 forum has much less spam than this one.

The possibility this game has an overall negative reception greatly saddens me.

It is an excellent game, and I enjoyed it in its entirety.

Well at least we know you're NOT a religious guy judging by your behavior and attitude.

Plus "Hail Mary's" are for the Catholic faith, which isn't the prime anymore.

I don't really have any sympathy. They made a game based on marketing decisions, i.e. Mass Effect 2 was a huge success, let's make DA2 just like it, it'll be a definite huge success. It's backfired.

You are an imbecile if you think being a fan of a company is insta-liking anything they feed you for 60 dollars. True fans (some of them mislabeled as "haters") will criticize the game with cause. I actually bought the game, thanks, and just because I think the game has major flaws doesn't mean I'm a brainless "hater". Look around. Do you think it's just a massive amount of people who just downloaded the game and are hating it for no reason? Do you even think your thoughts through?

I am a HUGE Bioware fan. Being a true fan means being HONEST with what you receive. Would you think someone was your TRUE friend if all they ever did was smile and nod? No! You want your friend to tell you if you do something bad or unintelligible. Just because we criticize the game and are pretty disappointed with it does NOT mean that we do not think any less than you do. In fact, we are actually trying to recommend ways for Bioware to make a better sequel, whereas all of you blind fanboys are just gulping it down and saying HOORAY!

I would rather Bioware read all the "hater" comments to see how to make a damn better game next time.

How very pretentious and arrogant. Never mind condescending. Must there be such division? So "true fans" MUST hate DA2? What a joke!

No, don't equivocate things when I didn't say them. I said true fans of anything are the ones to criticize. If you are a fan of a band, you should be open to situations wherein your favorite band puts out an album that is sub-par. Do you guys seriously just think every single game Bioware was ever going to make was going to be GOOD?

to be honest I don't think they should just go about banning everyone, rather make a place where haters can go, and make another where lovers can go.

That's segregation, my friend. And segregation is bad.

In all seriousness though, I feel bad for Bioware because they have to deal with EA. However, they should've grown a pair and told EA that if they wanted to see a decent game on the market they'll have to deal with it taking longer to come out. As it is, well, whether you like it or not there's no way you can argue that it wasn't rushed, and that the rushing detracted seriously from what it could have been.

So it's not ok to tell Bioware why you didn't buy the game?  What would have to be changed to make you willing to buy the game?  Even though the Demo was freely available,  you're not allowed to have made a decision based on it,  despite the fact that the purpose of a demo is to give you a chance to make an informed decision?

Or is it that you just want to read threads about how great Bioware and DA2 is,  and don't want to be troubled with those nasty posts from people who think they made mistakes?

Do you understand how your plan ends?  Bioware gets rolled up by year's end.  Because if I'm not allowed to tell Bioware what I think,  then I'll do it by going to every gaming site I surf,  and rating it a 0/10. (Which I haven't submited a single rating anywhere).  If I can't tell them on their boards,  I'll tell them on someone else's,  and I'll guarantee you I wouldn't be alone.  So that 4.x it's carrying on Metacritic would look incredibly high.

Censorship never ends well.  My voice is just as valid as yours is,  probably moreso,  because I can put into words what I feel and why,  while you just advocate deporting everyone you don't agree with.

Bioware, please don't let DA3 go gold before 2014 or 2015. kthanksbai.

Not saying DA2 is bad, I find it an amazing game, but 2 years of developement is not the means in which you make a game better -- or as good as -- DA:O.

The whole point of the bioware general discussion forum is that it's general. You want to avoid all this go into the spoilers forum where only registered gamers can access. You won't have a problem any more.

Are you like me, and haven't finished the game yet, so don't want it spoiled? then that's just too bad. You have to put up with the general forum until then. That or go away and come back when you've finished the game and aren't afraid of spoilers anymore.

I guess I'm a troll.  Yep.  Solid through and through.  No not really.  See I have this standing policy that I register my games if I need support.  I don't need support?  Well hot damn, that's a good thing in my book.  See that one title registered?  Only BW game I've ever needed support on, and I've been playing BW's games since Shattered steel and posting on their forums since '99.  I wonder if I can dig out that super long arguement I had with Crushbug over the whole register/no register thing again.  It's almost worth repeating.

The reality is, the game is deserving of the low rating.  People expect that a quality company put out a quality product.  That's what they built their name on, that's where they stand, that's what people expect.  If you market yourself as such, you stay as such otherwise you'll simply kill yourself at the hands of your own stupidity.  You can bet that if D3 is a steaming pile of crap, it will be rated as such.  Much like SC2 has been rated very poorly on the MP aspect, and why KSR refuses to use it for tourny's.

So with that, I remember hearing this thing about 4chan trolls and all that.  You know it wasn't until hmm was it dave or chris?  Egged them on by laying blame to them for all the low ratings.  Doing stupid things like that generally isn't a wise idea.  It leads a group of people who are stuck in group-think, to say okay...enjoy the flames!

Well, I'm glad that the fail was so obvious that I don't even have to think about buying this game. But I'm not sorry for BioWare. Even if EA is the root of evil or whatever, BioWare went this direction. The lead designer ignores valid criticism like "lalalala can't hear you".
Turn your back on your fans for a new audience in an already oversaturated design branch and you are left without friends and loyalty.
