Looking for a way to enable tactics for all my characters.

I know I'll probably be flamed a bit for this but I've been doing this for almost all Bioware games (starting with Baldur's Gate).

I just find setting tactics and placing my characters and having them do their set thing (aside positioninng) to be more "tactical" and enjoyable for me.

If I need another mod like with DA:O, a link would be great.

I'm sure other players play like this too. The game feels more cinematic, and if I die in a battle I reset tactics and re-position my characters. I find it fun to find the right tactics to survive with no minimal human input.

Thanks all ad back to the game.

Jeebus, guess I'm more alone than I thought.

I like creating the "prefect"tactics and seeing if it work.

I don't understand the question. It sounds like you want to be able to set Tactics for each of your party members. On PC you can already do that, so can you not for console? The tactics screen for DA2 looks almost exactly like DA:Os.

Guess some people never played the older Bioware games.

There were mods for DAO and I believe it was in game for BG1 where all characters will use tactics.

Kinda like the gambits for FF12. Also for DAO it was the advanced tactics mod.

Currently when you select a character that character stop uses tactics and will follow only player commands.

At least I got some responses.

Not near my PS3 right now so I can't check, but have you tried just using 'select all characters' when in battle? On PS3 it's L1+R1, not sure about PC.

Nope tried selecting all.

The character thats zoomed onto, won't use tactics. Oh well.

Hmm found out the PS3 has an auto attack function and we PC users don't.

I could really use a function like that, my fingers really starting to bother me.

Hmm can anybody test with a 360 version?

just tap r while in combat, then the numbers for quick access to abilities. you auto attack the nearest enemy or the one the screen is centered on. it's damn close.

No one of the missing things is auto attack - option there but doesn't work. It's a "known issue".

I have a mechanical keyboard.

The clacking is driving me mad! Well not really but its very loud and it requires more force than the rubber dome keyboards most people use.

But yes that is what I'm currently doing.

And back to waiting.

I dont understand what you want?

You want to set up tactics for all companions, including Hawke, and just watch them play while you occasionally make them move to different places ?

I guess you will have to wait for a mod, for that function, and as much as I wanted to try that function,
I find it to be unappealing to have the game play for you

I understand but for me an RPG is about the storytelling.

I still play pen and paper DnD and I don't need to spam buttons.

Yep, posted in the mod section. Hopefully somebody will make this ASAP. I really want to do another play through.

Yes but in DnD you at least roll for damage, initiative, etc....

Why have a game play itself for you? That's no fun. Go read a book instead, and stop annoying yourself with these damn newfangled things kids mess with these days.

I did, but I'm planning to replay with a warrior/rouge which seems like a button fest so hoping to get this before I start.

And DnD, how sweet your forbidden lore. With my miniature pewter models and character sheet I could slay anything.

I wish I could play pen and paper more often but its usually once a month at best for me.

Hopefully a mod will come out. (not so I can play more DnD but to enable tactics).

FWIW, I like playing this way as well. I loved setting up tactics for all my characters and then watching the battle roll. Not sure why I liked it -- I guess it was just cool to watch them execute combos on their own. Sort of like watching a movie that I scripted. :)
