Hi i bought Dragong Age II singature edition, but i can't seem to enable dev console using the 2 methods.

The 1st method i try the easy way  by adding to my shortcut, "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole. Which didn't work.

The 2nd method I tried to edit my launcher found in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\data.

<condition name="FirstRunCheck" type="FileExist" file="${USERDATA_DIR}\\SystemInformation.xml">
<true action="execute" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\\DragonAge2.exe" autoquit="true" arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole"/>

Both methods doesn't allow me to activate dev console. I've tried to change my key binding to OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F12 and it still doesn't work.

I've bought and play Dragon Age Origins and i'm able to activate console without these problems.

Can anyone advise me how to solve this problem?

I'm not sure if i'm late, but I linked the OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button to OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F6 using the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

I have also tried all three methods Znov, and I cannot get the console to open at all... After using the KeyBinding method for Tilde, F6 and F12 on separate occasions, I began typing the commands I wanted to use and the shortkeys kicked in instead. Despite that it would be invisible anyway, I am assuming the console is not coming on at all.

The shortcut on my desktop has this target path:
"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

My KeyBindings are currently set to this:
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F6
OpenConsole_1=(UNASSIGNED)

And my .xml file line looks like this:
<true action="execute" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\\DragonAge2.exe" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" autoquit="true" arguments=”-enabledeveloperconsole” />

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

I'm not sure if it matters, but I thought it was stated that you should choice one or the other. First change the shortcut or the .xml file, then change your KeyBindings.

I used the shortcut (as it easy to find) and then changed the keybinding to F6

Eli, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you very much for your insight and quick reply, the fix worked exactly as you described: Edit Shortcut and then change KeyBinding. THANK YOU!

Guys sorry for the late reply, I used this link

http://dragonage.wik..._(Dragon_Age_II)

For me the F6 button was the only one that work. If a certain button don't work try using different buttons that the game isn't using.

Yes sir, before you make changes you close out the whole game. Then make you changes and restart. Sorry for the late replies (and future ones) as I've been busy all day and now I have class to attend.

None of this worked for me, do I need to create a new desktop shortcut after editing .XML and changing .ini to F6? Did everything it told me and nothing is working, oh what's new... I shouldn't be surprised that stuff never works for me.

EDIT: sighhh after a lot of difficulty and testing different ways I got it to work... did it in this order

I made a Desktop shorctut, right clicked then went into properties and changed the "Target" to "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

After that I went into my Keybindings.ini file located in   C:\\Users\\Your Name\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Settings\\KeyBindings.ini        and changed OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_GRAVE to OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F6

I then went into my DragonAge2Launcher.xml which is in   C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\data\\DragonAge2Launcher.xml    I then found the line <true action="execute" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\\DragonAge2.exe" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" autoquit="true" />   and copy pasted over it (completely replaced it) with    <true action="execute" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\\DragonAge2.exe" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" autoquit="true" arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole" />

Started the game using the shortcut and it worked.

Unfortunately nothing seems to enable the console on the downloaded version of the game on Windows 7. I've tried making the shortcut and adding the command to the end, editing the keybinding file as well as the xml file.

I was able to get this to work perfectly on my laptop but having problem with it on my desktop. The version I have on my laptop was with a purchased cd, and the version on my desktop is with a purchased downloadable through Origin. Has anyone found away to enable the console in this downloaded version?
