I thought I read somewhere that Anders can become a Spirit Healer in DA:2, do I need to unlock this? He is 14 now and I don't see and option for this.

Each companion has their own specialty line instead of being able to pick from the same class specific ones as Hawke. Anders' isn't a 'true' spirit healer but essentially has the same core skills. All the companion unique sets are in the bottom right (PC) or the very last one on the right (console).

The only way to actually give him Spirit Healing that Hawke can get is by using the console.But his specialization is in many ways the same. Though not nearly as effective if you ask me.. Spirit Healing can do some crazy things.

Ander's healing is VASTLY inferior to Hawke's Spirit Healer spec.

I wish they had them since they have the rival/friend system like the other companions do.
EDIT: ...And then I remembered that they are absent for a good portion of the game...blah.
