I personally think she's a cool character, she almost realizes at the end she's wrong, but the lyrium has gone deep into her mind. 

From the screenshot above you wouldn't look at her much, but she's actually kind of pretty, though a little aged around the eyes.

Gosh me too. I got excited when she gave me armor. Oh how brief that was.

I too find her to be a cool character. Something's very captivating at how in the fight she started questioning whether or not what she was doing is right or wrong. But by that point I'm not even sure if she had a choice, you know? Between the lyrium and certain death if she submitted, forward was the only way.

Knight-Commander Meredith is one of my favorite characters in DA2. There's just so much about her that intrigues me, especially considering my first (and main) Hawke sided with the templars in the end. I wish we'd been able to see and hear more about her!

Quite fond of Meredith myself, despite being 100% behind the mages/Anders, ahaha... I love the glimpses we get into the person she might have been, once, and the little dialogues in the end where she begins to doubt herself.

I always figured Meredith was drunk with power, which is why I sided with the Mages. Then of course Orsino loses it. Then I meet Meredith outside and she's even crazier.

I mean what is it with Kirkwall and crazies? Is there something in the water?

Meredith is an awesome character and one of my favorite villains in video games period. I sided with the mages (to stay in character and to keep Anders), but I found myself sympathizing with her in some ways because the majority of mages were blood mages terrorizing everyone and Meredith truly wanted to protect Kirkwall...except she got power hungry instead of listening to Elthina : (

Actually a huge fan of her. I didn't think I'd like her, but I do. I knew she had to be put down because she was crazy, but then I went through the final chapter and saw what the mages were like. Tons of abominations, blood magic, Meredith had every right to be suspicious, and then the lyrium idol did the rest. I wouldn't go so far as to call her sympathetic, but her concerns were valid.

Plus, her voice actress really sold her.

An interesting character pity she was written as crazy - it was unnecessary as most tyrannical characters are deranged anyway.

Haha, I never got to hear the entirety of her self-questioning during the boss fight, as Aveline bashed her to death while everyone else was stunned and Meredith was talking. I think one of her passive companion abilities made her immune to knockdown/stun effects or something. Good ol' Av!

I thought Meredith had the potential to become a much more interesting character, maybe even the Loghain of DA2. Can't help but feel Act 3 was rushed, though, and I wish we could have gotten more out of her.

She is quite the looker though!

i liked the char too (well in game kinda hated her ) and in the end i think she was not that crazy or power hungry, i mostly blame the idol who poisoned her mind as, in some circumstances, she seem to really care about the people of kirkwall or even the innocent mages in the tower and to regret her own methods and decision.

After playing her side of the game, I actually have a lot more sympathy for her. She was pretty sane right up until the VERY END boss fight where she tries to get rid of me, too. Everything else can be explained by her sister story. Her paranoia and quickness to judgement is the idol, though.

Very good end boss, I prefer the ones who are not KILL AND SAVE WORLD YEY. I felt sad killing her after being a pro-templar mage.

I hated her on a personal level for obvious reasons, being one who sided with the mages. But from an objective standpoint she really is one of my favourite video game villains of all time. I kind of wish her crazy had just been that and not spurded on by a shiny plot device, but I certainly enjoyed the character.

And the VA was top-notch. Kudos to her.
