Only one way to Necro this thread...

What if Meredith and Orsino resolved their unresolved sexual attention..?

Maker, that damn gif of my video is going viral XD

Gah way to forget what I came to this thread for.

I've been pouring through the codex, the wiki and poked Meredith in game for clues on her age, but nothing exact came up. All my esitmates put her at her mid fourties, making her about 25-30 when she became Knight Commander, making her in her late teens when she joined the Templars.

Anyone have anything on her age? I'd greatly appreciate it.

*blinks* 29???

That would make her twenty when she became Knight Commander... that's pretty damn young, I'd think, and an awful early promotion, considering she joined the Order when she was in her early teens from what I gathered.

I have a hard time imagine her as 29. She looks more middle-aged to me

I buy 39, give or take a few years. Not 29.

I can't believe this thread is so small!
Such a shame I don't have much time now to write a wall of text why I like Meredith and why I feel so bad about her ending. But I actually came here to drop some screenshots that my fellow BioWare fans from another forum collected. The screenshots show what Meredith says during the final battle when she does her Darth Vader thing:

I thought she was a good character until she finally cracks in the 3rd act. The part where she is confronting Hawke and Orsino and asks, "What can I do, tell me?", was actually rather touching. I think she is really a person stuck in an impossible situation and trying to make the best of it within the limitations of her position and philosophy.

True 29 is pretty young. If it's accurate though, I could buy it though since she was obviously in a stressful position. Stress can be a heavy burden on the body.

Personally, I thought Meredith was a well done antagonist. I think the writers did nail that "shade of grey" with her, even being a "what if" scenario for what Cullen would've been like from the first game if he had real authority.

I don't know her history, but could it be that she is related in some way to Grand cleric Elthina? The exchange of looks at the start of act 3, when Elthina admonishes Meredith to "Go back to the barracks, like a good girl!" smacks of a mother/daughter relationship. Or am I getting carried away with an alternative storyline?

Meredith calls Elthina a "dear friend" when she grabs Anders, so I guess they simply were good friends. Sort of like two sisters.

I took it that line as Elthina was implying that Meredith was behaving childishly.

Meredith's family are all dead, killed by her mage sister turned into an abomination.

Ahh, Meredith.

When she makes her attempt to harm my sister, I shall, in the words of a great dwarf, show her my heart. Then I'll show her hers.

Rise, Meredith! Rise and be immortal!

Just dragged Emile de Launcet to the Circle and loved how if you call Emile an idiot for telling people he's a blood mage for women, Meredith smiles and chuckles with amusement.

I see that someone posted picture of the face grabbing, speaking thing Meridith do. Has anyone managed to get her to grab one of the following companions:
Varric/Sebastian/Merrill/Anders and Carver - basicaly any of the ranged and Carver. If so what does she say then?
I can't get her to do it - not even Carver who is melee:-(
Picture would be appreciated, but is not necessarry.

I had her grab Merrill, Fenris, Anders, Isabela and Carver on different playthroughs and if i remember correctly it's the same line if it's a romance and/or a sibling.
She says something like: "How does it feel to know one of your loved ones are at my mercy," so no change.

Meredith is uber-compelling and has the best VA in the whole game. She got much respect from me the day she picked my mage up off the ground and "overlooked" my apostatyness. The fact that she always treated me with respect, in spite of disagreements, was big for me. Achievement Unlocked: A Worthy Rival. :)

I was especially impressed with Meredith's voice actor, particularly near the end of the game. Does anyone know if it's possible to hear her backstory if you don't side with her at the start of Act 3? I played through twice and can't seem to remember finding any conversation options to learn about her past.

You have to side with her from the begining and while doing the tasks for her and reporting back do an investigate and ask her why she hates mages so much. then she will tell you about her sister and past. just use investigate option every chance you get with her. Having anders with you helps get sparks flyiing.
