I think the same happened to me. I raced through a lot of the game and didn't even question her weeping in front of the mirror it just seemed like a Merril thing to do. But I never did get her Questioning beliefs quest in Act 3. Nor did I return to the mountain after he quest since her's was my wrap up before heading into the last main quest.

i got the bug it does spoil that quest but it doesnt seem to ruin anything in the game other than knowing what happened in that quest.

I can't get her last Questioning Beliefs dialogue to trigger. I went back to her house after bailing her out of trouble with her clan, talked to her at her home and gave her the Sylvanwood ring gift. Now I have the Questioning Beliefs quest in my journal but all she'll say when I try to talk to her is the line about holes in her roof.

I have that problem on Xbox 360 - all she does is complain about holes in her roof but cleary in the journal I am sent to talk to her again
