Screw you forum.

Anyway everyone is suspectible to corruption mage or not. The more power you have the more likely you are to be corrupted. Mages included. Since they start off with more power than most they like any other human being are more likely to abuse it. That's all.Not saying all mages are gonna go "MUWAHAHAHAHA!" and start abusing and exploiting people. No. All templars aren't going to do that either. But there will always be Alriks and Orsino's abusing their power just like they'll be Thrasks and Feynriel's.

Feynriel abuses his power if you let him live...

Seriously? Saving a woman from being raped constitutes "abusing his powers" to you? Wow.... that's just..... wow...

Uhm.. A woman that has never met him is now madly in love with him... And that doesn't scream blood magic to you? You really live in a world of fairies and unicorns, dont you?

That he saves her from bandits (don't recall anyhting about a rape...), is all noble and good. The way he does it? Not so much. Since he got the power to control minds (again... Blood magic), and since he is such a good little kid, who befriends fairies and unicorns.... Why didn't he just make them all friends and have a good laugh together?

Yeah.. Feynriel is one big f*ck up, that just screams "you should have killed me when you had the chance"....

What? When was this? Apparently I was playing while sleeping again.

I must've missed this too. Apparently Feynriel saving a woman from being raped and possibly killed is "abusing his power". I guess because he's a mage anything he does that's more than lighting a candle is "abusing his power".

The only abuse of his power that happens is when he's an Abomination, and he's not even the one abusing his power. Torpor is abusing Feynriel's power.

Oh my God!! He saved a woman from being raped????   Next thing you will tell me is that it was the Maker's will that she be raped.  :?

Your sense of logic is truly disturbing.

What about a mage who thinks the Circle mages are weak and meek? Like Morrigan.

it's not a mage Hawke's opinion of mages I was refering to. A mage hawke could very well decide they hate the Circle and think it deserves it. I was refering to Mage Hawke believing that the Meredith led templars would would let her/him live or walk free after doing so. That Meredith or the other templars would give Hawke a "special apostate" status to continue to live large and free up there in Hightown, both powerful and popular.

I certainly would not dispute that a mage Hawke could have reasonable
motives for wanting to see the Circle annulled, from the altruistic and
idealistic to the purely selfish and even sadistic. I just highly
question (minus meta-gaming) the logic behind a mage-Hawke who would do
so, and still expect that they would be allowed remain free or alive,
even after doing so.

Well, if a mage thinks so highly of themselves that they're hating on the Circle mages, they probably would think that they're stronger than Meredith, too. And Meredith's given them a free pass so far, so why not? They might be wrong, but I could see the logic that led them to that conclusion.

You could also just make Feynriel tranquil... Then have some tea and biscuits.

Because it's completely impossible for the woman to be desperate and fall in love with anyone. [/sarcasm]

Groundless speculation with nothing to back it up. Do not claim it as fact.

Far more likely she's a stalker than a blood slave.

That he saves her from bandits (don't recall anyhting about a rape...), is all noble and good. The way he does it? Not so much. Since he got the power to control minds (again... maidenhood = virginity, and a loss of which means rape.

Because that's just stupid? Eventually it would wear off and they'd go about arguing again and try to rape someone else, and then Feynriel would have to do it all over again. It's easier to just kill them. The fact that you want rapists to still be alive yet you condemn a mage for killing rapists boggles the mind.

Blood Magic isn't inherently evil. I think Merrill showed us that.

Yeah.. Feynriel is one big f*ck up, that just screams "you should have killed me when you had the chance"....

You just have this petty hatred against mages, don't you?

So we should excuse templars who are killing hundreds of innocent men, women, and children because they were simply following orders? If Hawke has a choice to protect armed and armored soldiers who are going to kill innocent people or protecting the people who aren't responsible for the actions of one, single man, then I think Hawke has every right protecting the mages from the templars.

Yes, because that's how military orders work. You are trained from the moment you arrive at Basic to follow your superior's instructions with no question and no hesitation. Find someone who's served in the military and ask if he's ever followed an order he disagreed with or was uncomfortable with. If he says no then he's either lying or never served in combat. The fact that Cullen even voices his disapproval is kind of astonishing to me.

And the mages in the Circle of Kirkwall were indeed innocent of Anders' actions. Meredith's entire argument is that the people "will demand blood."

We know that the Circle was innocent but Meredith doesn't, nor do the other Templars. Look at this from the  Templars' point of view. You have an apostate mage who obviously intended to cause harm, not just to a building but to people. You have dissension in the Circle. As early as Act 2 Cullen is  saying, "The mages in Ferelden never opposed us this openly" or something similar. You're aware of significant numbers of blood mages and escapees. How much of a leap in logic is it to think that Anders' attack isn't the only one? How much of a leap is it to wonder if there are Circle mages helping? To wonder if Viscount's Hall isn't next or a marketplace or the Gallows? At the very least, Meredith had cause to sequester and question the Circle mages.

deliberately missing the point. Celebrities have things regular people don't, and people fall in love with them all the time. Either because they're rich or attractive or whatnot...

Hell I was popping through the channels yesterday and TMZ came on. They talked about how some guy from France watched a celebrity woman's episode of Cribs where the woman talked about her guest room for her guests, and the guy from France traveled all the way across the world , knocked on her door, and asked if he could stay there.

I lol'd heartily after hearing that. Then I changed the channel.

The woman is more likely a stalker than a blood slave.

edit: it was actually across the world..

Then people can rely on physicians for their healing.

I just assumed that Feynriel and his girlfriend with the absent eyebrows met in the Circle, or while he was with the Dalish, depending on choices Hawke made in each particular playthrough. How foolish I've been. :?

Did she say they'd never met? LOL I must sleep a lot while I'm playing. I mean A LOT.

  • Gascard
  • Tarohne
  • Uldred
  • Caladrius
  • Danarius
  • The Baroness

So you're ignoring the lore that states that there are hundreds of mages in the Circle of Kirkwall (and this is prior to the influx of mages from the Circle of Starkhaven) because you personally dislike it?

I'm not ignoring the lore, I'm saying it doesn't matter. We don't see hundreds of mages being killed. There isn't even a dramatic cutscene with Templars slicing at innocent mages throwing their hands up and pleading. I'm saying that what Hawke does is what happens.

I'm also aware that "slaughter"doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. When I was a kid some guy shot up a McDonald's and killed five people. The news called it mass murder. "Mass murder" to me is something more like twenty. I don't know how many people a "slaughter" is in Dragon Age terms, but I certainly don't think that every single mage (aside from the ones you let go) are killed.

Then by all means, show me where Whatshername ever met Feynriel, or even saw him, since she is now so madly in love with him. What she has, is no natural love.
