Hello everyone,

Been following this a while and registered the past few days - one thing has me confused about DLC though.

On the Addon page on the main site (http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/) it says this:

"Every new retail box of DA:O contains a promotional code on a
promotional code card which when redeemed provides a free download of
The Stone Prisoner. Digital purchases of DA:O will have the code
emailed."

Clear enough? But I'm in the UK and I can't find mention of this freebee on any standard edition product page for any retailer, only on the collector's edition page. I saw a statement from Bioware in another thread saying they were working to get clarification on this issue for the UK, but that was 6 days ago and I can find nothing else.

I want to pre-order this and would prefer a boxed-edition - but if needs must I'll be looking at digital download routes. I don't want to reward EA with more money because I happen to be in the UK market. Though saying that I don't particularly want to use Steam. I'm not a Steam-hater (I love it), I just forsee problems with Steam and the world builder (which I will absolutely be using).

Any advice? I'm a bit saddened at this to be honest - I have always trusted Bioware but alarm bells did start ringing when I saw EA were publishing. They have a history of screwing us in the UK and I hope they're not trading dishonestly on the excellent reputation Bioware rightly hold.

Sorry if this has been since answered but I really haven't been able to find anything.

As far as I understand it, this is a retailer independent issue. The code for the stone prisoner is in *every* retail box, as in *inside* it, so retailers may or may not realize its there.

Stone prisoner is in every new copy, UK or no. So if you buy the game (not pre-owned) you can download Shale.

Thank you for you replies and sorry to sound paranoid, but can anyone link me to a statement to that affect. Retailers here are either saying they're not sure or it definitely isn't in the standard, EA explicity state it is collector's edition only on their UK shop and the last statement (that I can find) from Bioware said they were unsure what was going on too.



I'm hoping EA UK have simply made a mess of it all and been propgating false imformation.

nice...thanks for the info, didnt know every new box shipped with stone prisoner DLC, thought it was Collectors only

the real problem is getting the damn thing to download first then install which are currently problems without solutions
