After completing his "loyalty quest", Sebastian remains locked in at my person screen.  I see no reason why the game is requiring me to take him around and it is frustrating, as he does not work well with my current party.  Is there a way to remove the lock/fix what is happening?

Same happened to me last night, and others have experienced same problem with Merrill. I solved this problem from reverting to a point before the quest began. Yes, it's a loss of time (for me an hour and half), but it's better than having him locked in your party.

Others have also mentioned trying to go to your estate and reassigning your party. It didn't work for me but it may for you. And don't expect achievements with Sebastian, they don't fire yet.

I just had the same problem. It was really starting to ****** me off cause for some reason he just kept getting himself killed in battle but luckily the going back to your mansion and leaving fixed it for me.

Same thing is happening for me. Maybe they should have released working DLC

Going in and out of the Hawke Estate fixed it for me. Very glad of that because I would have lost hours of play-time to undo it.
