Has anyone managed to get one attempt on most of their mini-boss battles on hard mode? I'm currently doing the Deep Roads quest on Act 1 and at the point where....
*SPOILERS*
...Varric's brother traps us. I enter the first room and there is one Stone Golem and dozens of Shades with low HP. After I've killed the Shades half a dozen more show up but with higher HP. After killing them another half dozen show up and then Aveline gets ravaged while I'm pathetically trying to killing them as quick as I can by backstabbing. Their weakness is frost but spell cooldowns dreadfully slow.
HOW DO U MANAGE?

Yeah, that fight had me go down to normal difficulty again. It was just too hard for me.

I was about to dumb down the difficulty but I got through it. Four attempts. I'm really terrible at this

Kite them back to the first room. It's possible to avoid facing all the waves at once.

Save your Taunts. One thing I noticed 'bout this game is that "ANOTHER WAVE" tends to arrive at approximately twenty second intervals. How convenient! That's the cooldown for Taunt.
And what's this I hear about Aveline dying? Shield Defense, Immovable, around 25% Damage reduction in passive talents, the odd Heal spell, Elfroot potions... there is really no reason for Aveline to die.
