That and since anders is a meat puppet for a vengful demon hating spirit of the fade, I think he's the guy to go to for demonic possesion verification

You have a beautiful way with words.  You should write for Hallmark.  :)

Hehe. Well.. I think Anders' lines make it clear that the only appreciable difference between demons and spirits in the fade is a question of alignment. And that may be discretionary.

Anyway, my question isn't whether Merrill/Anders lied about Keran's test results, it's whether any human really understands enough of the nature of demonic possession to be able to tell. Arviraad certainly suggests that the Circle does not understand the nature of possession and the risk of demonic contagion. Other statements by others suggest as much as well. Even Sandal's prophecy suggests that there's more going on than meets the eye. Something for future DA installments I think.

Well, the same people used the same methods to stick a demon into Wilmod, and that demon showed up when Wilmod was attacked. So it's not unreasonable to assume the same test would work for Keran.

Possibly, but that suggests the appropriate test is to attack him, in a way that truly convinces him that the demon's life or mission is at stake. To our knowledge, nobody's tested Keran in this manner... I guess Cullen or Meredith could off screen, but that's just speculation.

That is essentially how Anders tests him. Merril tests his blood.

Yeah.. But if he doesn't believe the attack is real than it likely wouldn't work

This also assumes that different demons react the same.

By the description that Keran gave, his attacker was a Desire demon.  They are a lot cagier than Sloth demons and a lot more patient than Pride demons.
