I've read both sides of the poor testing quality argument and I see the points on both sides.

Personally, it seems to me that they had a very weak testing program for this game. From little things like the checkpoint saves not being at the top of the list to the game-breaking glitches like the unlimited shield armor or thumbs up glitches, this game has very little polish.

It may be understandable why these glitches slipped through the cracks, but it's certainly not acceptable.

Especially if you think about how before 5+ years ago updates weren't possible for games so any glitches were there and always there - never to be fixed. So it seems almost that companies arent as worried about putting out games at 100% because they can fix them soon. Well, doesn't work for those that have no internet (don't see why you would game without internet in this day in age, but still some people don't which leads to those people missing the updates and left with a broken game.)

Just came upon this problem myself playing a rogue. This especially happens when I use the Twin Fangs attack. You use it and it takes forever to finish the animation and turn around to fight again. In that time you can get hit multiple times by an enemy which is insane. The other attacks I use are far faster in animation, though weaker when trying to kill someone. Only other talent that isn't weaker is the Assassinate attack.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if a glitch is understandable if it renders your game nearly unplayable. The attack speed bug alone makes this game a bad game. Until that bug is fixed, Dragon Age II is not a good or fun game for the many who experience it. At least not by Act 3, when the effects have accumulated. The glitch being understandable doesn't change that, unfortunately.

Y'know, another option that occurs to me for console players is to give us the PC console editor. This would only be a stopgap solution for *this* bug, but it would certainly go a long way to showing they actually care about the issue. It would also be nice to have, considering that the PS3 and 360 both have simple ways to access keyboards.

Wow, on top of this bug I just noticed a pathetically easy XP exploit from those "return lost items" side quests where if you hold your weapon out and as your about to put it away turn the quest in and continue tapping A until the desired level you want occurs...... its PATHETIC. I went from 9 to 30 in less than 5 minutes. lol Don't see how THIS could have been missed.

I decided to tell customers about this bug today. Of the 8 people interested in DA2, 5 chose to wait on the purchase or not buy it.

I don't dislike Bioware, in fact I'm a fan (not so much of EA). And I didn't tell anyone to not get/play/enjoy DA2... but how can anyone in good conscience not tell someone about such a game-shattering bug when they are asked for an honest opinion?

I'm also a big fan of bioware games, but I'm starting to approach their products like I do Bethesda's. I will wait and buy the goty/ultimate edition when it comes out instead of playing a glitchy game that mars my initial experience. I really just want to enjoy the games I play, and big bugs/glitches stress me out.

I think they underestimate how big of an impact buggy games will have on their reputation.

While this is clearly the right thing to do, it's difficult. I'm as frustrated as you are with this bug, and appreciate your choice. And risk.

The dilemmas that deadlines bring seem to be getting worse as more and more developers rely on patches to fix bugs. Overall patches are a good thing, but they do create the temptation of releasing games that have not undergone rigorous testing. While I would like to see games thoroughly polished, it isn't feasible from a business perceptive since it can push games over budget and can cause delay, which in turn leads to a loss in sales.

But to get things back on topic, does anyone know if the patch in the works will fix bugged character stats, or is it to early to say?

Same thing has happened to my rogue...it was all going so well then gradually I noticed my attacks were grinding to a halt. Now the game is pretty much unplayable as it takes so long to recover after attacks :(
I noticed that Isabela's friendship perk was on when she wasn't in the party...and I also noticed that Aveline's perk was on at times she wasn't in party too. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but now I wonder if that's caused a problem too?
Just been looking at my characters resistances and my Damage resistance is currently at -5%...that's definitely not right! :(

Please hurry up & fix these issues Bioware...its kinda disappointing to invest so much time into a game only for it to be rendered unplayable by bugs...

Havent played DA2 in about a week. Its nice to know that the game is still unplayable and that the devs havent done anything to patch it.

Any idea when this is going to be patched? Its kind of rediculous that i have to wait to play my game because Bioware did a terrible job testing this game.

-7% Damage resistance on mine. My armor ratings are also severely low for some reason (0% vs. Boss/Lieutenants, 10% for Normal enemies), despite the fact that I am using the best armor in the game. What gives?

(2H Rogue)

I can also see Sebastian's perk on my screen, yet he's not in my party.

I agree, havent played for a while because of this bug, (have tried several times but I´ve never reached act 3 . How is it that a game could pass testing and still suffer this kind of bug? I dont want that this should be a part of how I play the game so please dont tell me to get unfriendly with Isabella or Sebastian. To Bioware; Please exterminate this bug soon.

I'm getting an answer from the people at EA that it is possible that if you save over the same game too many times, the saved games can corrupt. Is everyone else saving on multiple saves? I reached the maximum number of game saves, the actual number of files that can be saved, and have had to save over old saves to just keep saving occasionally. What is everyone else up to? I dunno, this all seems like a lot of people for this to be just a non-issue.

I am also hearing that if you have too many save files on the XBOX 360, it can overload the game, as well. So, in other words, saving too few or too many times seems to screw up game play.

Corrupted save files from overwriting? WTH that's ridiculous! How do you even delete the files? Go to the dashboard memory screen? Thanks for the heads up...

Edit:  Also I cannot play because of the slow motion bug, which is why I was checking this topic in the first place...

Wow, that could be it.  I think I have over 800 saves rewritten over the same files.  Maybe I should write to a new file and then delete the old ones to see if that helps.

When you play on higher difficulties, multiple saves are not an option.

By corrupted do you mean the game will actually TELL YOU that its corrupted and not allow the file to save or it will have other repurcussions because I am always saving over the same files. I don't like having TONS of files.

Here's what I know so far:

1) There is no indication on my HD that there were ANY corrupt files, in DAII or otherwise.
2) I tried the HD and the game on another system, and the problem persisted.
3) I got a new, larger HD, used the official XBOX 360 transfer kit, and the problem persists.
4) I am back on the phone attempting to figure this out some more.

When they patch it I'll finish this game, but I have to be honest my enjoyment of this game has been severely decreased because of this bug, and I doubt a patch and being able to wrap the game up will bring my opinion back up anytime soon. It's a shame really. This is the first time I've regretted the purchase of a Bioware game, in particular buying day 1 dlc.
