iv been looking for the twin to finesse havent found it yet.  im thinking you get the twin by takeing out all the gangs. in kirkwall if not it has to be somewhere.

I'm pretty sure I took out all of the gangs but alas no twin to Finesse. Again closest aesthetic resemblance I can find is Spider's Heart.

There is no twin to Finesse, other than Spider's Heart, which is vastly inferior to other daggers you get in Act 3. The weapon you get from "The Lost Swords" quest, assuming you refused any monetary reward, is a class specifc weapon. In the case of Duelist Rogues, it's a dagger that resembles the design of The Low One.

I'm a little disappointed that Bioware featured paired Finesse-style daggers in the introduction (and demo), but doesn't actually have a viable twin in the game. Maybe they'll take this to heart in the next DLC/expac that players actually do care that their characters look as bad ass as they are; or better yet, add a twin for Finesse as an unlockable item that we can have now while most of us are still playing through the game.

Yeah taking out all the gangs got me a one handed Axe. Doesn't appear that this "side quest" provides build specific rewards.

What about Maker's Kiss from the Black Emporium - the one with spirit damage

The Coterie shiv also looks like the dagger in the demo

The dagger you get from the Qunari Sword's quest isn't Finesse's twin dagger sadly. But I've heard that they might add it in future DLC for DA2.

If you have the PC version go here to make all daggers in game look like either coterie shiv or Finesse pairs without changing stats...  www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php

Duplicate Finesse with GFF savegame editor for DAO, it works even on DAII, and deliver to you a perfect copy of finesse! just duplicate with right click on the item, do not make the Count "2".

Not sure why people keep saying that Finesse is given from the Murder of Crows (Zevran) - while it doesn't make sense to meas to why this would happen, perhaps there is a difference between people who start DA2 fresh and those who import saved games from DA:O or maybe even by using Gibbed? I was also looking for it's twin, but I got my Finesse first time from the last Bone Pit quest, the High Dragon's Fire Gland after turning it in to Sol in Hightown (Also completed all of the Herbalist's Tasks, not sure whether that is an important/deciding factor).

I'm rerunning my rogue using a Gibbed save because my first default history playthrough created a historian's nightmare - I will be sure to post the results of both quests,

Hell, the twin daggers from the demo/prologue are one of the reasons I wanted to play a rogue. Kind of strange both of them are not in the game.

Is the armor the champions armor? Just got the game, only in act 2 at the moment

They are saying that because Zevran does give you Finesse. I have played through DA 2 three times now using 3 different imports from DA:O (I never killed Zevran though) and every time Zevran gave me Finesse. Every play through I got a necklace from the High Dragon's Fire Gland.

I'll double check that then - perhaps I glitched.

I have a funny feeling that Finesse's brother dagger is from the Qunari Sword's quest. Without revealing too many spoilers, I recommend you don't get greedy when you first initiate the quest.

Do you get "The Widow's Heart" by doing so...I've heard that this is the name of said dagger we are all wanting.

No, the widows heart is much lower in terms of level compared to Finesse. It is also a green version of the dagger (model), not the black steel from Finesse. I believe this is a dagger you can buy from the Gallows. I don't suspect that you can really purchase the best weapons in the game. Pretty sure they must be dropped or rewarded some how.

As far as I know the best items available are bought items. Was the same way in Origins as well.

By the way, regarding The Low Blow being weaker because it does nature damage and doesn't have crit chance...

The only time I don't have guaranteed crits is if I'm not flanking and using auto-attacks. Predatory is 100% crit while flanking and Explosive Strike, Twin Fangs, and Assassinate are all 100% crit. Crit change really isn't important. Crit damage % and physical damage % are the big ones..

Also, doing nature damage is actually, from what I can tell, a plus the vast majority of the time because it bypasses armor. I just killed Hubris (the boss Pride demon from the scrolls) and my auto-attacks from Low Blow were critting for ~450-500. The auto-attacks from Finesse were critting for ~250-300. Obviously there might be some creatures that have high nature resist or are immune to it even, but you can switch weapons in combat so that's no reason not to take advantage of bypassing armor in every other situation.

Still, if you don't want to deal with resists, putting your best runes in something else might be a good idea.

The two best daggers, by far, are Shadow's Claw and The Maker Kiss (especially on the end fights). Both do spirit damage, so both bypass armor and halven resistance.

In fact both are available on Act III, one from the weaponsmithy in Lowtown and the other in the Black Emporium. Those two are the best daggers in the game, overall.

It's true, I've gotten Finesse from Zevran every time.

from collectors strategy guide, finesse requires you to 1) help zevran kill nuncio and 2) free him ( not tie up or deliver ). i checked this from save on my rogue, you need to not send him to nuncio but let him walk off at the dalish area.

on the nature thing, it's cause very few things in the game have nature resist. however you're gonna need another weapon to swap in for golems on nightmare or you're gonna spam immune rolls for damage a lot

It appears that my DA2  files were VERY badly fragmented during install - not sure why, as I make sure I run a clean sweep before installing new software so that doesn't happen. Either way, I get Finesse only from Zevran now (which is :().

Suppose I'll go mess with pyGFF's duplicate feature now...

just to let everyone know, there are no matching graphics to finese, so youll be stuck with only that, im afraid its the only dagger that resembles the champions edge, i found this information while playing a modded game save of dragon age 2 with all (including unobtainable items) unlocked, ragged edge does not match finesse, nor does the low blade... sorry guys :(

Well. That's very :(. At least we know now.

I love Bioware too!! But EAware has much to answer for.
