I'm on the last mission of Dragon Age 2, when I engaged one of the bosses all of my spells became disabled and havent re-enabled themselves, is this intended or an accident?

I tried restarting and that did nothing
I tried rteloading the game and still nothing

having 2 casters in the party that cant cast any attack spells is getting really old really fast.  If I examine a spell it just says temporarily disabled.  This is happening on both casters in the party.

You check to make sure the mages don't have a skill active which prohibits offensive spells?

Spirit Healer's Healing Aura and Anders' Panacea will disable offensive abilities when active.
