Why? Let's say that neither boulders gate nor origins ever existed. DA2 is the first bioware of that style that you have ever played. Are you still as disappointed?
The problem is, is that there will always be zombies who will find something to complain about. I mean, seriously, prime evidence that evolution doesn't exist. You think people would learn that they don't have control over how the game is going to turn out. Yet they continue to launch nukes at the development team. And they're so ungrateful. Bioware gives you an awsome game, yet you throw it down because it isn't the same as the other. If you kept getting the same exact phone every time you get an upgrade, would you be happy? No. Because it's paying more money for what you already have. If bioware made DA2 exactly like origins, we would be paying money for what we already have. I played origins. I loved it. I'm playing DA2. I love it just as much. People need to learn to enjoy games as they play them. Go into the game with a fresh mindset. Forget about Origins. Play DA2 for what it is, a whole new game. Don't compare it to Origins. In fact, don't compare it to anything. If you learn how to do this, I promise you will enjoy it even more.

I'm beginning to see that the majority of whinnes and complainers are PC gamers. PC Gamers yearning for the "golden age" of rpg gaming - the way "it was meant to be." Well, time moves on - we're not stuck in 1993. The days of games being designed for the PC are over. Either change or get left behind.

lol this is the dumbest thread ive seen so far.. since when a 2 is not a SEQUEL???
all ur post saying that is not a sequel is BS TC..
Putting a 2 shows its a sequel not a spinoff..
If bioware wanted it to be a spinoff the my not make it Dragon Age:Rise to power or something..
But by putting a 2 makes it a Direct sequel to DA:O
Do u see Call of duty putting a new number behind and makes it a third person shooter? no..
coz its a SEQUEL and sequel usually follows the route of its predecessor..
GIve me an example of a game that has a new number behind and IS NOT A SEQUEL.. plz TC, give an example besides DA2..

a very messy way to state your argument, but okay. I'll play your game.
You don't get what I'm saying. I want people to get away from that
mindset. I understand that sequels generally are expected to live up to
their predecessors. From experience, I learn that this rarely happens.
How do I enjoy the game then? I forget about it. Instead of saying,
"this game isn't as good as 1", I say, "this game is fun." I don't
compare it to it's predecessors. And I think you tripped while you were
climbing down that ladder of yours.
You can't get people out of this mindset do you know why? Because DA2 was advertised as a sequel, therefore it will always be a sequel. When people think Dragon Age 2 they think the sequel to DA:O. You can't cange this. Your not Jesus reincarnated to change the mindsets of millions of people. Stop being arrogant, get rid of your hubris, and think.

TC - you are right on. Don't get sucked in by the angry minority - they will always be loud and stupid. Rest in the knowledge that you are correct and they are sad.

No we do - with out credit cards. No credit card = no sales. Sale < 5m = rethink. Rethink = some hope they'll actually make a good game next time.I.AM.DUNCAN wrote...

Why should I be grateful? I paid them money for this game, they did not give it to me at below cost price, or as a gift.I.AM.DUNCAN wrote...

No, it could be 60 hours of new locations and a new story and new encounters, without completely throwing out the previous formula. Plus loads of work on balancing (especially between classes), bug removal etc. A bold refresh would have been nice too. A complete redesign on a tight budget is NOT nice.

You always should have higher expectations than for the first game. Sequel means , more better, more polished and not shorter, total different and rushed.
Stop defending Bioware/EA they failed horribly and they should now get the full "hate". Only when people fail things can change to the better. If you let them ass with this game they thinnk they can do anything and you still would buy it.

I wonder if you were able to keep a straight face when you came up with this thread? Are you seriously trying to say that this is a good game?
Look at my post history, I never started posting on the forums here before DAII came out, the reason I started is because I came here to see WTH WENT WRONG WITH THIS GAME! Now I don't normally troll or belittle others opinions, but you have got to be wearing blinders if you cannot see the issues with DAII. I don't even know where to begin.
Anyway the answer to your question is no. After playing the demo, I would have passed on this game and not looked back.
