The problem is, is that there will always be zombies who will find something to complain about. I mean, seriously, prime evidence that evolution doesn't exist. You think people would learn that they don't have control over how the game is going to turn out. Yet they continue to launch nukes at the development team. And they're so ungrateful. Bioware gives you an awsome game, yet you throw it down because it isn't the same as the other. If you kept getting the same exact phone every time you get an upgrade, would you be happy? No. Because it's paying more money for what you already have. If bioware made DA2 exactly like origins, we would be paying money for what we already have. I played origins. I loved it. I'm playing DA2. I love it just as much. People need to learn to enjoy games as they play them. Go into the game with a fresh mindset. Forget about Origins. Play DA2 for what it is, a whole new game. Don't compare it to Origins. In fact, don't compare it to anything. If you learn how to do this, I promise you will enjoy it even more.

Even if DA2 existed in a void, I would be bothered by the lack of information regarding how crafting works. The confusing nature of romances. And, how buggy Merrill's quest/romance is.

Sorry, can't do that. They both did, and considering Bioware's pedagree, this game is a disappointment.

This game definitely did get the ME2 treatment, it was dumbed down from DA:O, I do have less control over the personality of the main character (in addition to being forced to be human).

Basically, everything many of us feared about the game and were repeatedly assured was not the case turned out to be the case.

Is it a good game? As a standalone experience, sure, but when placed in context, it's a let down. Dragon Age: Origins was a great game. Its sequal should be at least that.

That isn't what I'm saying. They have valid arguments. My argument is that most of them are overreacting, and that it really isn't that bad of a game.

I wasn't directly referring to your OP though. There sure are a lot of fans in denial about the games flaws around here.

Arguing over inherently subjective things like the style of combat animations or art direction is one thing. However, I've often seen the claim "DA2 is WAY better than DA:O" without any real points to back that claim up. To even MAKE such a statement, one would need to show why the two games can be compared. In my eyes they can't.

I really think this is the best Dragon Age game I played to date.  I played some 130+ hours in Origins.  I really think Dragon Age 2 is so much better.  The combat speaks for itself.  They got rid of that weird little run in Origins.  Reused Dungeons don't bother me at all.  It might be because I am a former World of Warcraft Raider.  I
raided the same dungeons over and over again for months.  It never got old.  The story telling is just
great.  I loved it from the start.  Did y’all see what happens in the ending?  It is freaking awesome, more
epic than Dragon Age Origin’s ending. 

I liked what they did with the item system.  They made is a simpler.  Sure you couldn’t change your allies
equipment but I like that decision.  I couldn’t bring myself to change Varric’s custom at all.  The rune system is done really well.  All of that Journeyman to Master to Grandmaster stuff gone.  It makes it so much easier.  I thought the graphics look awesome on the console.  I like how the talents are set up.  But I wish I had
more points to spend stuff on other than having to pick two trees.  Overall it was a great first play
through.  I look forward to replaying as a MAGE!

I.Am.Duncan appears to be saying that DA2 is a great game on it own. Ok. I'll accept that. But gong back to Xena_Shepard's argument, it is not a standalone game. It is a sequel. As a sequel, it needs to fulfill expectations that it will be similar in depth of story, style of play, etc. I haven't rushed out to buy the game because I heard that Bioware decided to rush development and go with this single-character format. I'll finish playing my other games first, and then get the game when the price begins to drop.

I was kind of excited about this forum because I hadn't discovered it when I was playing Origins the first time and I thought it'd be interesting to get to play through DA2 and see what other people were thinking of it at the same time. But... that doesn't seem to be what this forum is about. It's difficult to find a topic or thread that doesn't have somone saying negative things about the game and developers--and by "negative things" I don't mean "constructive negative things" or "I just don't like it," but really awful, whinging and occasionally surprisingly cruel things. I don't get it. What's the point? Is it just fun to have a bunch of other people fueling your rage?

Why? Well, for starters, have you seen random npcs around kirkwall that have ****ty polygon count and textures. They look like they are from a game that was meant to be made 10 years ago and their expression looks like they've seen a freaking ghost.

Have you ever paused the game when enemies explode? I kill FEMALE enemy npc and she explodes.I PAUSE. I see a ****ing bald male face with chunks of meat. This time I kill male enemy npc and I see same bald face. How the freak did this pass quality control? LULZ U PRZ A BUTN N SUMTHN AWSUM HAPNS. That's borderline ugly. Fallout 3 had better decapitations than **** we've are presented in this game.

The list goes on and on and YES I would be dissapointed if Origins & BG didn't exist. $60 for this? F that. I will play this one more time as a rogue just to read codex entries but after that my replayability with "Kirkwall Chronicles" ends. Unless modders come up with something amazing and put devs to shame.

I have already asked tez19 same question before and there was no response, so i don't know why are he is here since he doesn't appear to be of proper age for this game(at least according to ESRB).Do your parents know that you are on mature forum?

Not being registered doesn't mean you don't own it. I only have access to a wireless connection right now and can't connect through my PS3... I own the game, just cant' get online.
