I read bout this quest in my journal at the estate and it shows up in the quest menu, but I can never find it. I go to the wounded coast and search it entirely with no luck. What's the problem?

I had romanced Merril, and also had the companinship cutscene out of order glitch for her.
Normally she is in my party, but when I started Best Served Cold, I used Anders instead. Merril is the one who is kidnapped by the Mages/Templars and held in the wounded coast. Yet she was still selectable in the gather your party screen. Indeed, I did take her along to rescue herself. In the cutscene she is part of the group that looks down to see, er, Merril bound and lifeless on the ground (in the wrong outfit no less). At that point I facepalmed out of sympathy to the devs and restarted the Wounded Coast section with Anders in my party.

Edit:
Oh and of course the whole Isabela friendship glitch which makes your character go all matrix, but everyone pretty much knows about that already

Additional bugs I have experienced:
Merrill quest out of order (I did romance her and had her at 100 friendship at the beginning of Act 3)
Armor Glitch (took all of the challenge out of combat, even on nightmare)
Stacking debuff from Isabella and Sebastian (taking what little remained of the fun out of combat)
Characters remaining in combat long after all enemies were dead (although looting an object that opened an actual loot window, as opposed to just looting coin, would break them out of it)
Glitch whereby Aveline remains in my party when I enter Hawke's estate and Hawke is still wearing her armor and weapons. In this state, no quests will trigger or progress until I 'leave' the mansion to get to the party selection screen, remove Aveline, and then cancel out of that screen to set everything straight.
All I can say is GG Bioware for utterly failing at beta testing. If I have come across this many glitches on my own in the relatively short amount of time I have spent playing it without even trying to find them, I can only marvel at the ineptitude and incompetence of the people you found to "test" this game. Needless to say, I will be returning this game shortly, and it will be a cold day in H*** before I purchase another game from Bioware.

I'm running into the same glitches most people have.
Orana disappears in ACT 3 and their is no acknowledgement of it
Isabella has made my character slow as mollasses
Nathaniel survives DAA and his quest can't trigger in ACT 3
Leliana doesn't acknowledge her relation with Isabella
Loyalty of the Prince and Grreat Minds Think ALike achievement won't register. I've done everyone's QUestioning Beliefs quest except Varric and I have full rivalry or Friendship
I killed Zevran so I'm not worry about his quest triggering but how am I suppose to get Isabella's last upgrade that comes from that quest.
In my second playthrough I have a Sebastian rivalry but I swear I am taking double the basic damage than I was in my first playthrough.
Normal shades are hitting me for 45 damage per attack but in my 1st playthrough it was 22 or 23
I have taken steps to avoid the Isabella speed glitch like removing her from my part before going to the estate, but my characters speed being so slow is making the game unplayable

The main thing that seems to help is to never continue a save where Isabella isn't in your party. I did so on my Isabella Romance playthrough and I didn't notice any slower attack speed.
Oh, About the Nathaniel thing, second playthrough Fool's Gold still triggered, I ignored it but it didn't trigger Nathaniel later on. It is a Witch Hunt save where I chose Amaranthine, but the keep was strong enough.
When at the final fight, textures on the armor of Meredith and Orsino wouldn't load, reloading had no use, it kept persisting through the game up till the beginning of the final fight. Yet, when I turned it off to go have dinner and played a few hours later the reload did load the textures on both properly.
The final dialogue from Merrils quest triggered at the beginning of Act 3. I had full rivalry but no romance. It happened to me last time too<_<

I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but during my second playthrough I refused to help Anders distract the Grand Cleric during the "Justice" quest, and I never got his Questioning Beliefs quest even though I had him at 100% friendship.
I got the previously noted glitch with Merrill's end of "A New Path" quest dialogue out of order when trying to talk to her (I believe its the social call quest.. Its the one where Varric is trying to tell her to go outside and take a walk). And in so doing, I never got her Final Stage Relationship quest, "Merrill, friend or foe".
I also go the "Who Needs Rescuing" glitch, where you go to the wounded coast and you see the guy just standing there and nothing happens, with no way to complete the quest. Notably, this quest isn't even included in the guide, which I found kind of funny.
The guide also notes that you're supposed to be able to talk to Lia (the elf you saved in the Magistrate's Orders" quest) in the alienage in act 3, yet every time I go there, I see her, but can't talk to her. Glitch? Yes, No?
Finally, I got the glitch for Aveline's final armor upgrade, the "Deflecting Joints - Guardsman Pattern". Supposed to be able to get it on Jeven, yet... both playthroughs... No Armor.

Less concerning than faceless dwarves: Meredith and Orsino lost their color in their uniforms and were wearing all white. I don't recall this happening during the first playthrough but during this second play through they were just... white and silvery.
EDIT: It seems the game just decided to do this when I sided with the templars. I brought up a previous save and sided with the mages instead and the color palets were correct AND my dwarves kept their heads. So. Mages it is.

When I talked to Nathaniel in the Deep Roads he mentioned that the Head Warden spared the Architect, but on the game I loaded at character creation the Architect was killed and not released. I know this is a very minor thing, but it kind of kills the continuity that I worked so long on developing. I replayed the entire Dragon Age: Origins (all DLC) to make the story the way I felt it should be before starting Dragon Age II. I am wondering if this is not foreshadowing for Dragon Age 3, like the Architect may have a larger role to play.
I ran into this as well. Oddly, on my second play through I imported a character that had spared the Architect and Nathaniel never mentioned it. For crying out loud Bioware, where was the Beta testing on this?

And the Supplier Achievement seems to be buggy and random. I had every ingredient and no achievement. Some were purchased at the Black Emporium for me.

1. Did NOT experience the Merrill quest glitches (thankfully).
2. Did NOT experience any game-breaking glitches.
3. DID have a number of lockups. Fortunately was able to reload the prior save and move on.
4. Wounded Coast rescue mission never triggered properly. I did, however, get to help the City Guard take down a bandit/smuggler ring (yay!).
5. No end title music (don't know if this is a bug).
6. Varric's voiceover postlude has me with Isabela even though I chose Merrill over her. Again, dunno if this is a bug.
This seems small by comparison, but there is a problem closing out some Act 3 quests. I finished most of the Main Quest line, receiving the message from Orsino and the warning about finishing up everything else before going to see him. OK, fine, I say, just like in Acts 1 and 2. So I take care of business and close out all the quests at other locations than the Gallows, figuring I'll close those out on my way to the Templar HQ. That works great for all of the non-Gallows quests, but then, when I finally go to the Gallows, before I can do anything else, I'm in a cutscene and hurried straight into the final confrontation. So I never close out Herbalist II, Qunari Swords, or (most annoying) Aveline's Patrol quests. However, amusingly, in the final battle where you meet up with the Templars in the courtyard, the captain of the Templars (the guy you're supposed to report on Aveline to, I forget his name) has one of those big "Talk to me!" chevrons over his head during the entire time. You can't actually ever talk to him--both of you are kinda...busy--but it does make it easy to follow the main action! :-)

Afterwards, when I started a new game/new character, the texture and skins of all of the dwarves in Hightown's merchant quarter are affected with the same issue. All dwarves show a normal head/neck, but everything else is a solid textureless colour: usually white, but sometimes reddish or yellowish-green. Crates/barrels/boxes are also the solid white. All facial hair is...odd. It looks like it's missing shading and depth - like there's just a flat-colour polygon construct on a single plane sticking out from the character's face. It's especially noticeable on Bartrand, but affected the character creation facial hair choices as well.

I too have come across the "Who needs rescuing" glitch. I've run through the whole of the Wounded Coast without any event. Although... I've noticed that if I branch to the North right away, there is a guy standing at the dead end with two swords on his back. While his head will follow me as I move around, I can't interact with him at all....
experiencing the same issue
Also have the Isabella stuck by writing desk issue
