I am in the "last straw" Quest end of the game, and I just beat down Orsino, whos big body is now laying dead on the floor, but I am stuck in the Gallow's Prison and can't get out because of the red 'magic' that's blocking my exit...please help??

Just an FYI, I cleared cache as I read about previous and it has not resolved the issue. I still cannot exit this area.

SLMM have you killed the 2 form of orsino ? When you kill the big one a small ennemies jump out of the body ( in fact hawke kinf of stir him up lol). sometime this little creep jump out of the screen lol and got stuck at the bottom. So if this version of him don't die the barrier will not come out. So you have 2 option, either start back before the fight and redo it or try to target him with a mage ( if you have one) and kill it this way for some it work. Mostly all the time people have to redo the fight from the start. Maybe it will help a little. And I have also stop playing the game waiting for the patch to come out and i think it will not come out until next month..

Oh and for the one that say that other game like ME 1/2 DAO1 have no bug lol make me laugh lol. You certainly didn't play those game when they came out like this one. DAO 1 has so much glitche and bug at the start that it need 2 patch to be able to play correctly. ME 1 has a lot of problem with Ashley if she die in the mission people still talk like if she was alive. (those bug are not there anymore but still. For ME 2 Fashion bug all the time. Swapping weapon sometime you got nothing in your hand and ytou can still shoot lol. all of this bug are correct now but don't come saying they were no bug in those game. Its been 5 year that company release game in silver state ( sorry for the one who don't know what i mean here lol) and saying they were in gold state. So every single game in the last 5 year have bug at some point. Some bug don't really matter but bug like in DAO 2 are unforgivable, you cannot release a game with quest that don't work or with side story mixing themself up or with slow motion attack after too much time playing the game. I test video game has a secondary job so I can say it's really a fact it's not fiction. Sometime I report bug and my boss ask me : Do this bug will influence the game or not?

If I respond no they will not even botter trying to fixed it now, sometime they will release a patch 1 month or 2 after release but that's all. Why not start working on the bug right when we report them? Sometime the game will still have bug but the patch will arrive shortly after relase not 2 month later when everyone have stop playing the game and have gone playing another one and don't really want to come back to finish a game 2 month old. Just to be clear I still love video game and bioware game especialy but what will happen of our hobby (way of life or favorite game say it the way you want) in 10 year ? or even in 5 year? More and more Casual gaming affect other game and Wii style play have come out on every console Kinect and playstation move. Where this will go ? Sorry but when I come back from work it's no to stand still in front of my TV moving like a monkey to play my favorite game. Video game are to be played on a sofa with a nice drink (anything lol) and having a good time. I'm not again game like wii sport or anything like this but playing a shooter like let's say Killzone 3 with the playstation move is not really a good experience. Beeing up for 4 or 5 hour the arm in the air is not really something nice to relax. The game took like 5 or even 6 hour if you take your time. (mostly because they know that move player will not want a 10 hour game.) That were the video game are going. This is bad and for the one that said we complaint on everything. That's the way to make the industries understand we don't want the gaming to become casual all the time. ( mostly all casual game have a lot of bug but it don't matter the one playing it, they does not care.) For DAO 2 make a good patch and the game will be find it will not be the game of the year but it will be a nice game.

I have a feeling that this quest never made it into the final game as the offical collectors edition of the guide does NOT have this quest in it.

The finding Nathaniel quest doesn't show up anywhere in act 3 ive played though with all 3 different types of champions and delilah is never where she is supposed to be, also aveline's last armor upgrade won't drop off of jeven when i play as mage.

when Orsino turns into a harvester there at the end, he has no health bar, and isn't moving. still recognized as hostile, and my party and allies are attacking him, but nothing is coming of it

Both of these have been brought up already, but more information can't hurt:

Another user experiencing issues with Merrill's "A New Path" quest. When I start the quest, Merrill's dialog indicates that I didn't give her the Dalish relic from "Mirror Image" in Act 2, even though I did. After defeating the Pride Demon and leaving the Sundermount, the quest simply ends and I'm not given any opportunity to have any further dialog with Merrill.

I'm also experiencing tremendous slowdown with Hawke in combat. Enemies and companions still work as normal, but Hawke is moving in slow motion and virtually unplayable. When I switch to another party member, they appear to be unaffected by this, and from what I can tell Hawke then returns to normal -- until I take control again, at which point she is once again slowed.

Act 3 Issues I've experienced

1) Hawke's speed has been dramatically decreased
2) The end speech for Merrill's "A New Path" quest played first
3) The quest "Who Needs A Rescue" can't be completed as a single Rogue Bandit appears and can't be interacted with or fought at the Wounded Coast.
4) Aveline's Flex-Chain armor component does not drop in the inventory of the displaced Guard Captain.
5) The 2 Pride Demons and several enemies in "The Last Straw" are invisible and cannot be hit by the player, they can only be attacked whichever party members you do not control
6) Once "The Last Straw" beings, Knight-Captain Cullen's body is missing, leaving only his head, weapons and gauntlets
7) Templar textures are missing, and they appear either unfinished white, gray or black bodies w/ normal helmets.
8) Sandal, Sandal's Store and the Enchantment Apparatus are invisible except for Sandal's hair.
9) Upon completing the game and reloading the post-campaign save, Bodahn and Sandal only appear as hair and the Enchantment Apparatus is invisible.
10) Olaf's Armory is invisible

I had some issues during mage/templar showdown. During the cut scenes of Orsino and Meredith, Orsino's robes and Meredith's armor weren't colored. Their skin, faces, everything else was fine, including the clothing of all other characters, their clothing was colorless only. Not a crippling bug, strictly visual, but kinda distracting. Also, some sequences repeated themselves during the mage holdout. I speak with Orsino to start the battle and get to chose my party. After choosing my party, Hawke gave the standard list of commands to the unchosen companions. But after beating the templars wave, it starts to give the beginning of Orsino's "get ready" conversation I just had. Then it does the cut scene where Orsino turns into that flesh golem thing, and then cuts to me giving orders to the unchosen party again. But funny thing is, mutant Orsino is actually still there, just standing in the backround bobbing his head. While this is funny as hell given how nonchalant I'm acting in this scene with a boss just chilling in the backround, it was mildy annoying.

I'm not saying that there weren't any bugs.....just that I never encountered them on any of my playthroughs.

Hmmm....what are the odds of a Jade Empire sequel, I wonder.

In addition to the 'Unable to load area' errors,I had the same error as Bonus Pretzel.Both Meredith and Orsino's armour/robes lacked textures,so they were just completely stark white.

As well as that,when Hawke and her party took the boat over to the Gallows from the Docks,there was no boat visible in the cutscene,so her,Varric,Aveline and Fenris were essentially floating in mid air with water visible below them.

Then,when they jumped off the boat,Fenris was walking alongside Hawke but floating right above her head,as was Orsino.Instead of walking down the Gallows steps,he glided down them.Needless to say,it's a little bit annoying.

Issues I've had:

Hawke's speed as been reduced to a crawl, to the point that the battle is somethimes over before she get's off one attack.
Ending scene for Fenris' "Alone" quest doesn't play, though this has only happened with my Fenris-romancing Hawke, with my other Hawke it played fine.
edit: Side quest doesn't activate, I go to the Wounded Coast and the man who I can only assume is one of the kidnappers turn up but I can't interact with him in anyway.

Along with the oft-reported Merril end quest before beginning quest bug and the botched rescue on the Wounded Coast bug, I played through as Pro-Templar, but romanced Anders...Varric says during the epilogue that Anders stayed by my side (and unless he meant in an Urn on my fireplace, it can't be true)

Just finished act 3. The credits are playing but there is no music playing, only the occasional sounds of thunder.
At the end Varric said both Isabella and Merril stayed with me, the dialog overlapped, but the subtitles said Isabella. Only problem I romanced Merril.

Quest who needs Rescuing not working right. I get the letter from my desk in Hawke's mansion. I go to the wounded coast but there is no quest marker popping up on screen on my full map nor mini-map. I've explored the entire Wounded Coast map and cannot get the quest to activate. I only find a lone NPC standing alone in what looks to be a merc camp but nothing there.

This, I believe, is due to a friendship glitch with Isabela.  Supposedly, if you have her friendship bonus, every time you take her out of your party your base speed decreases (it's an invisible stat).  A similar thing happens with Sebastion, except for him I believe it's damage resistance.  It's a known issue that I assume Bioware is working on.

Only two bugs that I've noticed.  Just about to come up on Act III in playthrough 2 though so we'll see.
  • Zevran's dialog does not reflect relationship from import.  I read that the PCers have found files with the dialog triggers (or something like that, I don't really understand what they're talking about).  He is still a shameless flirt and he makes no mention of the Warden.
  • After Merrill's companion quest, I was unable to remove her from my party until I cleared my system cache.  (Had the same problem for Sebas in Act 2 that would not fix with a cache clear)
  • Credits are playing but there is no music

I cant get the Zevran quest at all, there is a guy standing outside the Blooming Rose, but cannot interact with him, no quest marker. and Zevran was alive from my import from DA:O

My Epic achievement didn't unlock after I beat DA2 with my second character....

Gah.

Also, I'm having two quest problems:
--On the scrolls quest, my journal states that there is a new location marked on the map... but there is nothing marked.
--My "Who needs rescuing?" quest doesn't start... Instead, I walk down to a campsite, a man appears at the entrance... and just stands there...

Quest Favor and Fault. Aveline's final armor upgrade is not dropping on Jevan or any of the people you fight towards the end of the quest. Also have checked for it in all treasure places before going back to the viscount keep.

Party make-up. FemHawke Rogue. Level 34, Aveline, Merrill, Isabela. Platform 360 slim

In addition to these problems, I noticd that my choices in awakening are being mis-referenced by Nathaniel Howe.  *spoiler* I never spared the Architect, but Nathaniel claims the Warden Commander did.  My friends and I have run into this and I hadn't seen it posted here.

Well almost all of Act 3 was bugged. Had the Merrill bug (check) had the Isabella bug (check) Had the "On The Lose" Bug (check) All of the Achievements from the Prince don't Pop (check) and the last fight in Act 3, well..... The first enchanter and Meredeth had no texture or armor just glossy white broken costumes. also the same thing went for the floors of the gallows had people hovering and fighting. and Templar's would just be floating heads and gauntlets or just swords. Anyone else?

Earthborn if you are talking about the Arwegian Scrolls quest. An icon never does pop up. You need to go to the doorway where you went in Act 1 to get the family will by Anders clinic.

I'm running into the Merrill quest bug at the beginning of Act 3. I romanced her, talked to her at my estate, then went to her place at the alienage to do the "A talking to" quest and she started talking about Marathari being gone. Something's wrong obviously.

Any work-around for this to get the scene to play in the right order?
