I had Fenris in my party and was ambushed, opening the area for one of his companion quest, "A Bitter Pill". I had forgotten that I switched my party around and went to the area anyway. Upon entering the area without Fenris in my party, I found that there was no way to leave. I had no "Leave Area" option even though it showed an exit on the map. I decided to press on and entered the slaver ruins. Despite not having Fenris, the conversation with the elf slave girl actually triggered, panned to an empty area of the ruins, and the Fenris dialogue was spoken despite him not being present. I backtracked to the entrance to the ruins only to find that I could now not leave them. I pressed on and attempted to finish the quest anyway. Upon killing the Magister, nothing happens because Fenris isn't in my party. I'm now stuck in the ruins with no way to leave, since the entrance doesn't work, and no way to complete it because I don't have Fenris. :crying:


got this one too, was able to leave though. so i guess the fenris quest is completed for me now, it didn't seem to trigger any bugs in act 3 so far.

I've got the same problem as many people do with the Merrill conversations. "Consoling Words" never appears and "Mourning" shows up as already complete.

I also got the quest "Fool' Gold." The Prima guide says this only appears if Nathaniel was not recruited or died at Vigil's keep. In my game, he was recruited and survived.

A bug I encountered in Act 1 may be related: I found both the letter from Avernus and Sophia Dryden. I had killed Sophia and spared Avernus. Furthermore, it's not even possible for them both to be alive at the end of Warden's Keep.


Ditto on these as well, very very wierd.

Some Act 2 Bugs:

1. My reputation precedes me bug: I defeated the Hightown gang and the Lowtown gang, and now after attacking me twice, the Docks gang has gone into hiding. I can't find them anywhere.
2. Some NPCs did not get the memo bug: I am getting the Fool's gold quest inspite of Nate surviving, and the woman in the How to Frame a Templar quest.
3. Brother where art thou bug: Carver is no longer with the group. However, his battle cries resound in every battle. "How many have you got Hawke?" especially. I am sure my character misses her brother terribly but hearing voices is ...kind of spooky.

I have the merrill bug, the "bang" Izzy bug, can't comple sketch's quest b/c of invisible assassins, and I have the forbidden knowledge bug.

Those battle cries aren't Carver, they're Varric.  Varric says "How many have you got Hawke?"

No Hubert! Did Bone Pit, got partnership + benefits, started act 2, Hubert is gone, no shop, nothing. 14+ hours of play all for nothing. This did not happen on my first play-through. 2nd play:female mage, different imported save from Origins/Awakenings.

like serveral other i have also gotten the combat slow down bug in Act II Hawke is become practicly worthless while everyone else is fine

Hubert's supposed to be gone until the completition of Blackpowder Courtesy. Have you completed that quest yet?

Oh, and for me, I finally got Merrill's Mirror Image quest, but it triggered well after Blackpowder Courtesy. And like others here, I couldn't get the Docks gang to trigger after beating the Hightown and Lowtown gangs.

If anyone is worrying, you can romance Merrill even if that quest auto-completes. You get "after deep roads" after the fade quest... if you take her with you. Not sure what happens if you don't. Keep in mind if you take her with you, unless you do everything perfectly, you'll actually gain rivalry with her. You've gotta do it just right to come up as a net of 0 movement, including the conversation after the fade quest.

Yep I have the Merrill mourning bug so I postponed my playthrough :/. First I thought it might be because I almost maxed out her friendship thus somehow messed up her relationship. Damn 7 hours of ACT II just went to hell. What's the eta on a patch?

The quest "Inside Job" crashes when it transitions to the ambush point. I am currently using the beta patch and I had turned down going to see the traitor right away.

Merril quest line out of order in dialog options. Music Off during gameplay, but when in combat an anoying music like hum plays, why? then this affects Dialog right after combat with the dialog volume being way to low for 30 sec

At the begining of Act 2 (just after the talk with Viscount)  I get the information of receiving "captain-ranked chestplate". However I don't have it in my inventory.


Edit: The same thing happens after love scene with Isabella - I can't find this "threads of eastern seas" as well.

I'm starting to worry something broke :(

Oh yeah just to be clear. Mourning is auto-completed but unlike many people I can do the consoling words quest for her that appears at the beginning of ACT II.

At the end of Act II, during the Qunari battle in Lowtown:

When Alistair appears with the Wardens and gives me the amulet as a gift, he simultaneously says "it belonged to a friend of mine, and I think he'd like you to have it" and "it belonged to a friend of mine...but I don't think he'll need it anymore" (paraphrasing). Two different loads showed two different subtitles, but both times he says both simultaneously.

I imported a DAO > DAA > WH save where my Warden made the Ultimate Sacrifice in DAO but was subsequently carried over into DAA and WH. I suspect there's some weirdness with my DAO warden being both dead and alive, but everywhere else in the game it was consistent that my Warden had made the US and was dead.

It doesn't go into your inventory. It goes to Aveline automatically, it's her armor.

Oh I see - thanks for explanation. Does it mean "threads of eastern seas" are part of Isabella's costume then?

I don't know. I've stopped playing my character until Bioware fixes the Merrill bug at the beginning of Act 2. But if you'll just look at her armor in inventory you'll see if there or not.

Nathanial doesn't show up when he should. In my import, Nathanial became a Grey Warden and survived through the entire campaign.

Also Sketchy on the Details is broken. There are no other groups of assassin's that I can find and I scoured all of Kirkwall a few times to try and find all the groups of assassins.

Issue: When I go to the docks at night to talk to Sketch, I can't. He has the quest indicator and it's still active in my journal, but I can't cash it in.

Edit: Just thought I'd also point out that when I'm on the world map this quest does not show up as something to be completed at the docks - night.

Yes. Companion armor upgrades - like threads of eastern seas - automatically get applied to the appropirate individual. Just hover on their armor in the invent screen and it should show which upgrades are in it (the name will appear along with the effect, or if it just adds a rune slot, there will be no name). Example: 2 of Fenris' upgrades are just rune slots. So 2 of the 4 blocks under his armor would be lit up but when you hover on the armor it won't say any upgrade names, just show that it has 2 slots.

Same and it's killing me since I won't have much time to play during the weekend and I absolutely love DA2 but I won't go on until my Merrill romance is 100% fixed.

I have a related, though similar issue: Killed the demon, talked to the repentant, remorseful daughter Flora, and now... I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE CURSED HOUSE! I can go through a few of the rooms, but the access to the upper wine cellar (where we first see Flora threatening to drown an invisible minion in the dregs of wine!), which would give me access to the front of the mansion and the exit, is no longer available. I can find the rooms where her brothers were (the leather perv & 'Art-Boy'), but that's about it.
 I'd REALLY like to be able to finish this game, seeing as how I went to the trouble of buying it and all. Despite some of the grumbling of the masses, I rather like DAII... but my enjoyment of it does kinda kinge on being able to CONTINUE PLAYING IT...

Female Rogue, BTW... Not that it matters, I assume.
