Hi everyone. Please use this thread to post any issues you're encountering that are SPECIFIC TO ACT 3 of the game.

While we're making an attempt to capture the various issues posted in individual threads, this will give us a nice central place to begin collecting and addressing these.

Thanks!

*spoiler* the fight with Orsanis the First Enchanter guy who transforms to the Harvester, in his 2nd phase the little guy can get jammed into a corner, Isabella can jump down the platform into the fog covered ground before and solo him, sometimes she kills it in about 5 min solo or not at all, i had to restart the fight a few times before Isabella was successfully able to solo it and the event resumed to phase 3 but she did not return to the platform, she didn't appear til phase 2 of Meredith's fight with the guard statues at the end.

also the quest "Who Needs Rescuing?" Orlanna does not appear in the camp to the north and on numerous restarts, the Bandit Leader just stands there unable to move or talk with him, he is in a neutral hue. Possible bug/incomplete quest?

Both things also encountered by me; see thread I just started labeled "Last fight bugged (Major spoilers)" for specific details.

Merrill's scenes are out of order. I went to her home and I'm guessing the scene after her companion quest is what plays.  She was crying and said something about her people.  It made no sense given I had just started Act 3, so I skipped through to avoid any spoilers.  I assume that it was not in the right order.

A few spoilers maybe.

These involve Merrill, I have seen a few reports of this very problem (and I have seen there are also problems with her in Act 2, fortunately it seems I avoided those.)

At the start of Act 3 immediately after the opening scene in the courtyard involving Orsino and Meredith.

I get a whole bunch of companion quests, but Merrill has two, "A talking to" and "The new place".

If I go to Merrills home first, Varric stands around in the doorway regardless of if he is in my party of not and Merrill is non responsive conversationally if in my party (or not there at all if I don't select her to be in my party).

If I do "The new place" at Hawkes mansion first, that completes. However If I then go to Merrills home I get a scene where she is in mourning over the death of the Dalish camp and a conversation option including "Whatever you do we will do it together" (or something like that). I believe this is the ending scene for her for Act 3 occurring early when I haven't even started that quest line.

At this point I can then talk to her again and "A talking to" completes, with Varric talking to her before the player character.

The Eluvian mirror then disappears from the corner of her bedroom. And it would appear I can go on my merry way with quests, although as this play through has her as my romance option I would rather it all played out correctly, and I am not sure how it will play out with this bug already causing problems.

Is there any way to fix this for ourselves? It's a shame to know the end of her story arc ahead of time but it happens I guess.

I got a weird glitch where Varic was refering to me as a woman (which I played) but the cutscene showed a man after the fight with Meredith.
Anyone know how to fix that?

The quest "Who Needs Rescuing?" on the Wounded Coast. In the same location as the Flint Company mercenaries from the Act One quest "Duty" there's a man just sort of standing around. Holding tab doesn't highlight him, but if you hover your mouse over his model "Bandit Leader" pops up as his name.

SPOILER

There is a mission that you do for Merrill that gets the Keeper killed (possessed by Demon), then the whole clan tries to kill you so you kill them too, right. For some reason when I get back it tells me to talk to Merrill, but she's talking as if it never happened and the keeper is still alive (and about the mirror). I'm not really sure if I missed something or what's going on, but it seemed like this convo should have been before the mission...

This is a reply I got when posting this in another Thread.
It's a bug, I had to fix it with a console command. For some reason my first talk in the act to Merrill is her saying she's dead, when that part didn't even happen and I never killed the Pride demon. I just activated the quest and did the full thing to fix it.

Anyway, I believe you have the dialog in the wrong order here Bioware, the conversation at the start of the mission is what should be after the mission and vice versa.

I have the same issue.

*SPOILERS* Nathaniel says that the Warden Commander spared the Architect. It happens that the DA:O/Awakening save that imported my Warden killed the Architect.

I'll chime in with the architect being spared even though my save took place even after I had killed him,"Who Needs Rescuing?" not working, and after finishing Merril's questline out getting to her questioning faith quest, only to be incapable of talking to her.

Only issues I've seen so far aside from Fenris literally not having a questline at all. No clue if this is a bug from act 2 persisting or otherwise, however.

In addition to this, just ran into another one.  I forgot to loot Javen at the end of Favor and Fault, not getting Aveline's final armor upgrade.

When I went back to collect it, though Javen's body was there and fully lootable, the armor upgrade was not.

Ditto that for me as well. I thought that this seemed strange to me when I encountered it, seems like several others are having this same problem as well. Looking forward to an eventual patch.

I had the Merril Dialogue bug too. I was hoping it would be an easter egg and we'd get to mention time travel and refer to the Eluvian as a vortex manipulator or something but alas no.

I just replied in another topic about that:
I think the bug is the quest activating to begin with. There's no mention of the quest anywhere in the Prima Guide (that I could find) so I think it was supposed to be cut?

Getting the same issue with Merill's dialogue. Not sure if it'll cause problems later on...

Yes or your non team allies(minus Aveline), stand around watch the fight half time, it's annoying.

There's a bug that several people are getting where Hawke start moving slower and slower in his battle animations (both basic attacks and abilities), to the point where he's near useless in combat.

http://social.biowar...index/6459070/1

I've been going through my saves and from what I can gather it started with my character around Act 3 and got noticeable after the Faith quest OR the battle with the High Dragon.

Quick Question:
Is my dialogue bugged or does everyone involved in the quest Best Served Cold assume you're siding with Meredith no matter what you did before or how many times you tell them you're on their side....?<_<

I'm getting the same issue with Merrill. Romanced her in Act III, 100% friendship with her, 2 companion quests in my logs where her alienage home quests seem out of order / bugged.

I'm continuing my game with a save that leaves both Merrill quests on the books until a patch releases.

I'm having similar problems, the quest "Who needs rescuing?" will not begin. The character "Bandit Leader" appears in the correct area of the Wounded Coast, but no cutscene starts, and you cannot talk to him, however his name highlights when you mouse over him.

Second, I have this thing that I think is a bug (read about it over on the 360 section) where Isabella is in my mansion and she has the exclamation point over her head, but no cutscene or unique dialog occurs on clicking her. Just her usual Hanged Man banter.

I thought that was weird too, becuase I was all about helping the mages, and they acted like I was Meredith's lap dog....

[spoiler maybe]

Also, in the quest "Mine Massacre" where you have to fight the High Dragon, my party member would continually disengage from combat and sheath their weapons, the get the crap smacked out of them. And when they did engage the Dragon the would take one swing AND THEN JUST STAND THERE. That made it kinda hard to beat it :D. Also too there was some weird stuff with my characters not taking any damage, none, zero. Once the Dragon was below 25% health or so my party stopped taking any damage and the one or two times they did, the instantly regenerated it. I don't know if it's because I turned it down to casual (because I had to click every time I wanted my character to take a swing at the dragon) or what, but it seemed weird....

I tried the console fixes for this at several points throughout the game but unfortunately none of them seem to work, its a shame because the romance with merrill had a very good direction throughout and this messes up the chronology really badly.

For those that want to give it a shot the console command is runscript zz_mrl_debug

I fell upon a P0 Gamebreaker bug while playing "Best served Cold" that prevents me from going further in the game.

After eliminating the enemy forces in hightown I was left with no bodies to loot the letter from. The map shows me the location to go in hightown but when I get there it's empty.

Has anyone found a way to bypass or reset storyline quests?? I dont feel like wating weeks for the next patch so I can finish the game.

Dragon age 2, PC, Act 3, Best served cold

Thx a lot guys
