description says: 1 piece of armor can only contain 1 rune of valiance
however when u place the runes in different pieces of armor you only get the bonus of 1 of them.
so either description is wrong: only 1 rune can be active per character.
or the rune only works once, despite it should work once per armor piece, as the current description implies it should.

Is this supposed to be a letter than initiates "On the Loose"? That's what I have but there's still a quest in my journal saying there should be a letter, even if I read them all.LordPaindeath666 wrote...
I want to start The Last Straw, and it says there is a letter from the Knight-Commander that I should read. There is no such letter in the desk when I check.
Edit: No bug in my playthrough, just confusion on my part.

Elsa is no where to be found, and I can't contiune the story line.

I have just done that part. On the Loose leads to the letter that leads to On the Loose. When Meredith sends you to Elsa she should be standing right there behind her. Reload and see if it's fixed.MoonStalk wrote...

I've reloaded and tried almost every possible combination of options. I noticed it even says New Quest "On the Loose" once the conversation is over.
No Elsa, no new quest in my logs.

2. The Rescue Orianna quest doesn't spawn the appropriate characters in the Wounded Coast, so I can't do this quest.
3. Orsino fight - completely bugged. My party stands around afterwards, with nowhere to go and no further phases or cutscenes triggered. This one is game breaking since I can't proceed at all from this part.

Who needs rescued, I've been all over that coast three times, can't find the girl, but the Bandit Leader just stands around on the beach like he's waiting for someone to bring him tea or something. Interesting fellow he is.

I'm also not sure if the import caught my DA:A decisions accurately. The general DA:O stuff is there, but I don't remember the import dialogue saying anything I DA:A related.

I am having this exact same problem. Gate Guardian just stands there, doesn't attack, gets down to almost no health, and then doesn't die.

Maybe I should wait for a patch. Hope I won't have to backtrack much when the solution comes out.
edit: OH! there was also a brief scene with Aveline and the dog, where she was standing in front of the Hawke estate fireplace while Merril standing in the same location. Part of the same problem, I guess.

Then, another one piles up, and only after I have talked to the Grand Cleric regarding her request was I able to cue the sequences up, one after another.
Also bugged on the Who Needs Rescuing quest with no interaction on the bandit leader to trigger the fight.
And when I tried to fight the High Dragon at the Bone Pit for Mine Massacre Hawke kept freezing for an extended period while the fight goes on around her, and an odd clicking sound comes in that I can't figure out. Not sure if it is a sound effect I just don't get, or a symptom of the problem.
But, yeah, not loving the experience of playing Act 3 so far. I'm unsure this playthrough is not completely borked to finish up the final storylines.
Another issue has developed as well with companion cutscenes not triggering. This has happened on Varrick, Sebastian, and Anders-I get the plot dialog marker, but the line that plays is a standard banter. Work around is to tag them again, and usually the scene will start to play. A couple of times I think it took two additional tags, but that may be my annoyance interfering with data gathering.

However, as some people have already mentioned, other factors can cause that and other/related tracks to go wrong.
Someone on the Dragon Age wiki suggested the bug can be avoided by not inviting Merrill to live with you in Act II (which I guess means taking the neutral, "let's see how things go," route), but since people who didn't romance Merrill seem to be having the same problem, I'm not sure how reliable that advice is.
So, did anyone pursue the romance via Rivalry instead of Friendship? Maybe that makes a difference.
Also, if Leliana was supposed to mention something about the Warden and her being an item, it didn't happen.
