After killing Castillion and choosing a new party member, I can't loot his body and I can't leave the area.

Also, the quest Gamlen's Greatest Tresure. In the journal says we need to go to Darktown first. Trully, you need to talk to your uncle before heading down there.

But my hawke romanced marryl instead she even moved into his house, had sex with isabela once, but talked to her in the tavern saying that marryl is the one to him.

Edit: also when I actually went to the Chantry to distract the Grand Cleric for the last time after I reloaded, I did not have Anders in my party, but the quest still played normally. I am not sure if this was also needed to not get the bug.
Edit: I also cannot complete who need rescueing quest.

Act III, The last Straw quest say I'll get letters from the head enchanter and/or the knight commander, but I never get em. Done all other quests (Apart from who needs rescuing wich seems bugged) and I'm just running around not able to do anything right now.
Edit; Just reloaded the autosave at the begining of act 3, that solved it, just have to do it all over again... Ugh.

Same with me. Aveline was not in the party, but was helping me. She blocked the stun and continued whacking Meredith while she talked non-stop. Also, I found this strange: everyone was in the fight except for Merrill.

Wasn't there officially supposed to be a game-a-year schedule with Bioware with two simultanious productions?
I guess we all see now how well that has worked out. I wonder if they skipped testing.
Also, will the patch be announced here?

Thanks again. Aside from the glitches. DA2 is a fun game just some more polish would be appreciated in a final product.

As follows: I took her to Sundermount and the demon apeared possessing the Keeper. Killed her and then got away, without having to kill the Dalish. At this point Merrill was still "locked" into my party until I went back to my estate and it triggered the romance dialogue. She acted like none of the proceeding happened (said how her clan and keeper would not approve).
After this she appeared in the estate and after talking to her she said she was going back to her home in the alienage. Now she doesn't appear in either and I never got the scene where she shatters the mirror.
It appears something with the scripting for Merrill's romance chain is seriously off, based on my experience and what I'm seeing in the support and NPC forums.

The way this works is this, the quest "mourning" is tagged for act 1 (in the console debug at least under other dialogues), after you return from the deep roads however and talk with varric about carver either dying or becoming a warden you are instantly ported to gamlen's home.
The way to get around this is a bit crafty, when talking to stroud (the warden) or carver as you put him out of his misery you need to type runscript zz_mrl_debug (with the console up of course) and navigate other dialogue -> act1 -> deep roads before mother. This will enable you to finish the conversation with stroud and THEN port you to merrill's home for the dialogue.
I'm hopeful that it was this quest bugging out that caused this whole mess to arise with merrill's out of place questline, so lets hope that It gets fixed as I finish this playthrough

during the "best served cold" quest I still have Isabella in my party but upon reaching the place with grace and the templars she lies on the floor, being kidnapped, while, well, also standing right beside me.
Afterwards she bugs out of my party(maybe intended?) and I only have 2 members.
Sadly, I donT have 2 Isabelas.

Any time there is elevation in the spawn location this problem appears. The biggest offender are the back-alleys in the Blackpowder main quest and the gang side quests. You need to run up the various stairs to get the enemies in the various areas to spawn properly. If the spawn point isn't within line of sight of the champion the enemies won't appear.
This also causes problem in areas like Lowtown, Hightown, various Darktown sub areas, and the Docks. Whenever there's a change of elevation it causes problem with the spawn due to line of sight issues. This can cause people to have issues getting the enemies to respawn in the Low/High/Dock areas since you need to FULLY clear ALL spawn points before new ones will appear.

I get a whole bunch of companion quests, but Merrill has two, "A talking to" and "The new place".
If I go to Merrills home first, Varric stands around in the doorway regardless of if he is in my party of not and Merrill is non responsive conversationally if in my party (or not there at all if I don't select her to be in my party).
If I do "The new place" at Hawkes mansion first, that completes. However If I then go to Merrills home I get a scene where she is in mourning over the death of the Dalish camp and a conversation option including "Whatever you do we will do it together" (or something like that). I believe this is the ending scene for her for Act 3 occurring early when I haven't even started that quest line.
At this point I can then talk to her again and "A talking to" completes, with Varric talking to her before the player character.
The Eluvian mirror then disappears from the corner of her bedroom. And it would appear I can go on my merry way with quests, although as this play through has her as my romance option I would rather it all played out correctly, and I am not sure how it will play out with this bug already causing problems.
Is there any way to fix this for ourselves? It's a shame to know the end of her story arc ahead of time but it happens I guess.
I have exactly this same problem.
