So far, I'm not a giant fan of any of the LI. Neither of the boys are an option. Fenris is a brooding, moody jerk and while I don't dislike Anders, he is a serious downer, especially compared to the rather entertaining DAA version.

As for the girls, they are better but not perfect either. Merrill is a adorable and I love her to death... like I would my little sister. Isabela is the winner by default here. She's fun, she's sexy, but she's not especially deep.

I've done both Fenris and Anders - I think Fenris has the more "rewarding" relationship. Maybe I just did things in a backwards order with Anders but I felt like we flirted a bit in Act 1 and then he offered to come to my home, we slept together, and declared love in one day in Act 2. With Fenris there was a bit more interaction - especially as any declarations of love have to wait until Act 3, and I thought the love scene was much more poignant.

I think Merrill's is the best, but there really isn't much of an option here. I disliked Merrill's character in the end, but she was the best available in my mind.

 Romancing Anders my first time through made the ending roughly ten gazillion times more depressing. Which of course means it was the best option I could've possibly picked.

I'd have to do all four to really have a firm opinion, but I am really, really glad I did Anders first.

To me, Anders was quick to throw the word 'love' around but I didn't really feel like he meant it (at least, as far as Act II, I haven't gotten to his Act III stuff yet). Meanwhile, Fenris never once used the word love, but it was clear by his actions and written all over his face.

I'm gonna go with Isabela for now, although in my current second playthrough i'm aiming for Merrill and i'll see how it goes. Although truth to be told, I still prefer Leliana because you know shes into cuddling. Isabela just uses you, while Merrill is...well, to me, airheaded, romance wise.

Not too fond of the other two male LIs. Personally I felt them to be retardedly boring. Made me miss Zevran a bit as a companion. Fenris and Anders are like 'SRS BUSINEZ' type of dudes and it annoys me to hell.

I liked the Isabela romance because it felt like i tamed the wild spirit. But i did have to lay down the law when she met with Zevren!

But Merril is just too awesome to not do every time from here on out. Male or Female Hawke, its always gonna be Merill!

I romanced Anders the first time around and good god do I love his character and his romance. I was uninterested in Fenris and Merrill. And because I never used Isabella she left in Act II and never came back...no loss to me. I just wish the human romances didn't have to be so tragic. I'd really like for there to be an elf romance that is equivalently tragic. Alistair had the Dark Ritual and OGB, and now Anders has his ending "moment," and it just makes me wish that the elves should take it the next time.

Or maybe, why do I always fall for the sweet, adorkable kind that are destined to have a rough ending?

I like Merill because she is just so damn cute for the first half of the game that you totally forget the whole "Demon assistance/bloodmage" thing. Plus, the interactions with the other Characters (particularly Varric and Isabela) are great.

She give you the big kitten eyes and your sold, then procededs to scare the hell out of you once you prgress furter into the story.

I like both Anders and Fenris.
But since I tend to be a mage sympathizer (which is hard not to be in this game, if you aren't a mage, then your SISTER is) Fenris tends to hate me. So I prefer Anders. (I really need to completely romance Fenris in a playthrough before I make a complete decision though.)
But both of them are pretty hardcore extremists. So I guess for me it just depends on what side of the fence my character is on.

Its hard to choose between Merril and Isabella.

Isabella is super smexy pirate chick. I love her witty attitude.  I think she's going to be my canon romance.

Fenris won the day for me. All of the other characters legitimately were involved in stuff that greatly pissed me off over the course of the game.

Merill is my favorite personality, but female elf models kinda lack now imo. Fenris looks great tho, but he is kinda moody but might be since my first playthrough was as a mage.

I think Fenris needs to overdose on Xanax and Prozac....at the same time. Maybe then, just then, he can decrease the size of that black maelstrom over his head by, maybe, 1%. I love how Varric heaps on him for that.

Question? How come all the guys you can romance suck? Fenris, all I like on him is his voice, and I hate how they ruined Anders from Dragon age Awaking. Hell I would have rather my mage romance the Templar Cullen.

But seriously, when I saw the character first, I thought he was too anime, but playing a game with him in the party I actually really liked him. Mind you, that's coming from the girl who dislikes pointless angst, twilight and soap operas.

His personality isn't to bad after you start romancing him, but they could have tried to make him look less emo. I just wish there were more romance options, cause there are three girls and really only two guys (Sebastian can't really count cause you don't really get a romance with him) Anders is a bit of a disappointment and and Fenris needs to work on his look xD

Yeah, why does Cullen look so good in Dragon Age 2? I was like "why hellooo thar.."

Out of the ones I've seen Merrill's is my favorite with Fenris coming in a close second. Anders, and Isabella don't do it for me really.
