That's it ! And added "Bad girl"

I don't like the teenaged-feeling angst of Fenris, but I'm romancing him this time to see more content, and it has its moments.
I think I'd like to see the Anders rival romance as a religious, pro-templar Hawke.

Really, I was pretty annoyed that I couldn't break up with Anders. Once he pulled the whole "help me do something shady at the chantry, and by the way, I'm blackmailing you with emotions" crap, I wanted to dump his ass hard, but the option wasn't there.
Then I come to the forums and find out that I could've had Fenris after all, if only I'd have waited! *headdesk* I'm all for loyalty to the heart and all, but three years??? Really???

I fully intended on romancing Fenris, and got him to bed, but then he left and I was confused. Hawke got sick of trying to get through to him and went after Anders just for the hell of it, and then got stuck with him because I didn't know it was impossible to break up with someone once they move in. -.- Soooo, I like to think that she still loved Fenris, but stayed with Anders out of pity.

Yeh, that three years is tough to get around -- it just doesn't feel realistic at all. However, since before I reconciled with him, I got a confrontation from Anders "what do you see in him?" and a jealous response from Fenris to Zevran, and Merrill talking about how he's in love, I just tell myself (in my own personal head canon) that they had gotten back together in some backed off fashion or something. That probably isn't how the story is supposed to go, but 3 years is just way too long to be in that kind of holding pattern. That just stinks of stalker or no sense of self, to hang on 3 years after being dumped.
I felt the same way about Anders as well. I wanted to be rid of him so badly and couldn't.
Edit: Despite that three year gap which makes no sense, I do prefer Fenris. That voice... gah, yeh, I love his voice. And the dialog? Definitely swoonworthy.

I wonder, for those that played Baldurs Gate series, what the correlation is between those that romanced:
Viconia, and chose Isabela and those that chose Aerie , and romanced Merril?
As a woman, I adored Viconia, and played the romance with her every single time. But I went with Anders in this game and it's going to be tough NOT to romance him every single time. I think I just like epically-tragic characters.

Isabella - As a friend she's awesome. I love her humour ("apostitutes" <3), I like the fact that she puts her problems ahead of the "big issues" and she's a damn useful companion. But as a romance option... I like my bed-partners to have some standards.Visiting Anders to get a ... ...cure? I'm not going there.
You know, a lot of people bring this up, and while I am actually fine with her being promiscuous, this particular scene does change based on whether you are romancing her. If you've slept with Isabela, the scene at the clinic is actually different. It's Seneschal Bran getting the salve, and Anders makes a comment about how women on ships tend to dock in unsavory places. Isabela, if she's on hand, will say "I heard that".
A lot of people seem to buy into her facade and assume that the skin-deep is the real deal. That's one of the fascinating things about Isabela that I've noticed in my playthroughs... she isn't really as bad as she makes herself out to be. A lot of it is done on purpose, because she wants to keep everyone at arm's length. This doesn't necessarily come out during her conversations with Hawke, but much moreso through her banter with other party members (especially Aveline and Merrill).
With Aveline, she really hammers it home that she doesn't care what other people think of her, and that their opinions don't matter, because she knows who she is and that's enough for her. She helps Aveline come to that realization too, and that is what cements their "vitriolic friends" status. This attitude was one of the main things that attracted me to her.
With Merrill, she also admits that she has had fewer lovers than most think, but that what she does is only skin-deep. She's got no small amount of trust issues because of her past relationships, and that's why she is so envious of Merrill's innocence and good heart.
These conversations provide an interesting additional view of Isabela's character. Even when Isabela starts falling for Hawke, she still tries to keep it quiet. I may sound like the hugest Isabela fangirl here, but that's just how I see it. You need to really see how Isabela interacts with the others to get a real feel for her, moreso than just how she interacts with Hawke.

I think those cutscenes are random. I've seen both Isabela and Bran in it, and I have never romanced her. I would hope that it's only Bran if she's romanced, but if it were romanced based, I should only see Isabela, right?
So it's possible that someone romancing her HAS seen her in that cutscene. No clue. Give me a toolset and I'll check

Ah... just did some testing. It's not romance-related. It's entirely dependent on whether Isabela's in your party when you visit Anders. If she's in, it's Seneschal Bran. If not, she's got the clap.

Ah, that makes sense. Since most people who romance her probably keep her in their party, they'll see Bran there. That would be an "ugh" moment to see her when romancing her :/

I quite liked the Fenris friendship romance (I did rivalry too). I like the 'brooding/angst' guys.Only time I get to do that sort of thing (in video games) LOL. Otherwise that type in real life...urghh get away!
Hahaha! This is SO true! If this had happened in real life, I would have been like "jerk" and moved on after he walked out in Act 2 - lol.
I was with Anders first playthrough. Second and third are Fenris. I enjoy the hot and cold relationship of Hawke and Fenris.

People say she is only skin deep and that she is shallow and a total b**** but this is all a facade in an attempt to keep people at a distance. She is afraid that if someone is attached to her she will only end up breaking their heart and she does care for others just in her own way. Like when you are romancing Merril she says if you hurt her she will "cut off your balls". She has her own way of showing affection but doesn't want people to know she does. Like at the end of "All that remains" when your LI is comforting you she says that there are others who care about you. She quickly adds "Like Aveline" because she is trying to tell herself she doesn't care for you because she doen't want to break yout heart. The ship at first was her primary goal but if you romance her it just becomes a cover to her wanting to be with you as she explains during her confession to you. An example to show just how much she has changed is with Zevran when she proclaims she wants sex you can tell her to not do it and she doen't while the Isabela of old would have gone without a second thought. They probably put that therejust to show you how much she has changed. These are just a few example from many but just like the others you have to try out her romance to see what she is really about and to see what she really is like. The entire romance feels like you have to work for it as it starts from casual sex to really changing her for the better. As Hawke says "You do have a heart of gold in their, we just have to dig it out". The romance actually feels rewarding compared to others.
My opinion on Anders is he's alright and i like him but he just won't stop talking about the mages, its all he talks about and i tried to put up with it but unlike Izzy you can't change a part of hime. For her it was sex and with Zevran you can stop that with Anders you can't shut him up, So he was ultimately going to put himself above you even though he loves you more than anything.
Fenris was cool but again always talking about how much he hates mages but not as much as Anders. He is my second Favorite romance but I hardly change from Izzy. He can also betray you which sucks but you can convince him to not attack you. He ultimately puts his goals before anything else.
Merril is my little sister. I can't see her in any other way and i don't even find her cute, her densness can be funny at times but sometimes it can be really annoying. Again she puts her goals above you and is blind to almost everything and she is an example of why mages are fears and hated. Good intentions but going about them the wrong way.
Ultimately the one who is selfish at the beginning is the one that puts you above her own goals. With Isabela you feel like you have broken down her barriers and shown who she really is gaining a loving a loyal companion. She is hilarious and no matter how hard I try she is the only person i can romance. I gave them all a go but Isabela is the one for me and my canon romance. If she is not with Hawke in DA3 i will be disappointed and wonder why she left him.

Personally, I don't do "broody". I just don't find it even remotely sexy. Sadly, this means that my appreciation of certain characters is limited. Fortunately, we get other options.
In DA2, I liked Anders for his corniness and his tragedy... and his bald-faced neediness. Yes, there are times when he irritates me, but that's part of why I like him. I can picture my favorite Hawke sighing theatrically and muttering to himself "The things we do for love."
Isabela gets honorable mention here. She's my second-favorite of the romanceables. I like how the romance turns into a partnership of equals and how it winds up being deeper than anticipated without ever feeling as if it takes itself too seriously.
Mind you, I wouldn't like either of these romances in real life, but I don't play RPGs to duplicate real life. Some realism is necessary to give the characters shape and to help the player identify with them, but too much of it sucks the fun out of it.

Isabela just wasn't that interesting to me. Strange as it may sound, she had a little too much sex appeal. She's supposed to be an expert duelist, and that's what got me interested. Except that's never addressed, or when it is, it's concealed behind a thick mass of innuendos.
Fenris...Ehm, I liked his voice actor. Otherwise - Gotta catch them all.
Anders. Gotta catch them all. Though I did enjoy the irony of romancing him on a templar.
Merril. Gotta catch them all. She's really sweet and funny, but a little too clumsy and naïve for my tastes. And a little creepy. Her obsession with restoring Dalish glory is admirable, but the lengths she'll go to are really frightening.
There was the Zevran cameo though. That was fun.

I romanced Fenris too (in rival and friendship way) but some of him just rubs me the wrong way.
Isabela is also good for a female Hawke I think. And Merrill is cute in some ways xD.
