The reason I ask is because I wanted to be a damage dealer and Blood Mage seems more suited to that than the other 2 specializatons, but I don't want my Hawke to be hypocrite for looking down on blood mages while being one himself. ... Granted he'll still be a hypocrite, but I'll just file that under Gameplay & Story segregation.

I don't think so; there might be some 'opinions' made, but game mechanics prevent it.

So what you're saying is some people might not like the fact that Hawke practices blood magic, but they don't do anything about it? If that's the case I should of figured as much, but in my mind I imagined having to fight like every templar I came across, and people like Sebastian and Anders hating me.

EDIT: Last night I could of sworn I put this in the spoilers forum, maybe someone moved it.

Same as in Dragon Age: Origins, I presume. They mention it and will raise a brow on it, but they won't act on it. Hell, in Dragon Age 2, as a mage, you're an apostate, and even if you're not, you run around with other apostates. No one raises a sword against that. Meredith did proclaim how she was not pleased with this, but even she dared not act on it!

Like I said, they might have some opinions, but Hawke wouldn't survive if they had to beat off anti-blood magic npcs at every use of magic. Sucks, but it's game mechanics.

I finished my blood/force mage playthrough and I can safely say nope. None. Nada. Zero repurcussions. It was my first spec, so I had it pretty much the whole game.
