Hope it gets fixed soon, and I won't mind doing the quests again unless I can't get the achievements. :/

At least alot of you can continue the game, im beyond pissed atm, and most likely will return this game back to my local game stop and get my 60 dollars back, the end of act 2. the Qun main story quest, when u go to meet merrideth in hightown, the game loads a scene u already saw and then u are screwed, u cant leave, and u cant continue..ive tried everything form bringing different people in my pt, reloading the game, uninstalling and reinstalling it via harddrive, just playing it off the disk, etc etc..bottom line is, i payed 60 bucks for this damn game, and i have to put up with this..i cant even play throuhg it once...i was going to play the old republic because it looks aweosme, but now, ill pass, ..imagine an mmo...were u get ****ed over and have to erase your toon, i dont think so with all the flaws i see on the forums and my own experience for dragon age 2...u cant pay me to play an mmo released by the same company..so yeah, hurry up and fix this crap..as for me, ..guess ill go back to my old school super nintendo games..never had any issues with them period!!!
There is only one flaw in your action of getting your money back.
Once you purchase a video game, CD, Bluray or DVD and it has been opened. It can only then be exchanged for a new copy. You cannot get a refund. Only thing you can do is sell it to Game Stop, Best Buy or any other place where you can do trade ins and or sell used games for a lower price than what you payed.
I play mine on 360 and other than the achievement issue I have had no flaws with the game play or lock ups during cinematics.
Before you go getting too frustrated, I would suggest uninstall of the game, go exchange for a new one then reinstall. Sometimes data in the software can be corruptedt on the disc. I have had that happen in the past with other computer games and console games. I would try that first. Let me know if ya get it to work. Sucks you have this problem. Hope you can get it to work properly.

i seriously don't understand all of the hate being directed towards bioware over a few achievements. some of you are getting awfully upset over what is essentially just a number that will be displayed in the corner of your dashboard. this is a company that has given us some of the most ambitious and engrossing games of the last 10-15 years. cut them some slack
I sort of agree with you. However, this is a company who has done this same mistake before (Origins and Darkspawn Chronicles). It is even more frustrating to have the mistake associated with paid DLC that's availble ON launch day. A buggy $7 add-on on release day? Nothing says cash grab like this. I wouldn't say I hate BW, but I would like to see the QA/QC staff fired... well, assuming there is one.

it should be in your download history. try redownloading itGrito de Guerrara wrote...
At least you guys can play it, I've downloaded (and paid for) the exiled prince, but my game simply won't recognize it. Is this a different issue? If i go under downloadable content all I see is the black emporium.

Just one thing. I never had any issues with Origins or any of its DLC
As for the Exiled Prince DLC I got mine for free from pre-order so not realy too big a deal for those who didn't have to pay for it.
As far as I am concerned this first bug I have noticed while playing any bioware game.

It is not just about the achievement issue. It's about the fact that to make the relaese date they eschewed normal protocol and released the game with some very unusual and amateur mistakes. I would have willingly waited several more months for this game to be released with most of these issues remedied. You also failed to grasp that the achievement issue is something that has become common place with their games. I loved Mass Effect 1 and 2, along with the Original Dragon Age. This game looks good and some of the mechanics are a welcome addition, but do you really mean to support the decision to re-use dungeons as a good one? I mean at a design level it may be efficient, but from a creative standpoint it is a cop out. Like I said I would have been willing to wait several more months to play through different dungeons and to have my save game data to reflect the current date and time, to be able to complete the "Who needs rescuing?" quest that no one can complete, to look at my recent played game data on xbox live and to have the actual cover displayed. So it's not just about achievements. It has become too common for developers now to release game with some questionable issues only to patch later. Fallout New Vegas is a great example. If I pay 60 bucks to unlock some stupid achievement then that is what I expect. If I pay for content, I expect it to work. That simple. If they decide to includer this stuff and it deosn't work I am not going to say "Hey. it's ok. You guys still made some great games." No, They are a Triple-A develope,r and as such, they should be held to higher standards and to not make an amatuer game of what should be an epic triology of great games that must be played.

Just so everyone knows, we're aware of the fact that the Exiled Prince achievements are currently not unlocking on X360 and have been investigating the potential causes.
Can we get an update on this? It's been 4 days since you posted and I was curious how your "investigation" is going. If you want some pointers to possible causes try looking into how this same exact issue happened with the DA1 DLC... And then make a note so the Bioware team can learn from past mistakes.
The game has been out for over a week and still no word on a simple achievement fix. I know achievements don't matter for some, but this thread is regarding that and for the people who DO care.
Thank you.

I like achievements, but if there's any game today that is good enough that a glitched achievement or two--which let me remind you, they are aware of and fixing--makes absolutely no difference it sure as hell is Dragon Age II. (Also Origins and the Mass Effect games, because BioWare make great games.)
