At least you guys can play it, I've downloaded (and paid for) the exiled prince, but my game simply won't recognize it. Is this a different issue? If i go under downloadable content all I see is the black emporium.

I really hope they still unlock on consequent playthroughs. The Mass Effect achievements that didn't unlock for me are stuck as locked forever now. It's like the game half thinks I have them so won't trigger them again. I tried deleting the cache and that didn't work. So if Bioware fix this, I hope they also make the 360 recheck for completion rather than leaving it locked forever.

Have this problem, too. I'm an obsessive completionist, so it's not like I won't complete Sebastian's quests again... but it'd be nice to have it fixed soon!

I just noticed the problem..and I've beaten the game twice already. XD

Hope it gets fixed soon, and I won't mind doing the quests again unless I can't get the achievements. :/

There is only one flaw in your action of getting your money back.

Once you purchase a video game, CD, Bluray or DVD and it has been opened. It can only then be exchanged for a new copy. You cannot get a refund. Only thing you can do is sell it to Game Stop, Best Buy or any other place where you can do trade ins and or sell used games for a lower price than what you payed.

I play mine on 360 and other than the achievement issue I have had no flaws with the game play or lock ups during cinematics.

Before you go getting too frustrated, I would suggest uninstall of the game, go exchange for a new one then reinstall. Sometimes data in the software can be corruptedt on the disc. I have had that happen in the past with other computer games and console games. I would try that first. Let me know if ya get it to work. Sucks you have this problem. Hope you can get it to work properly.

I will not be playing this game until they fix this. Not that I'm dying to do so but I paid for it so I want to get my money's worth. Although I doubt Bioware would care, they already got my money and know I'll make the mistake of buying their next game as well....

I think this is systematic of a game that has obviously been rushed. How this can be missed in QA is not possible.

i seriously don't understand all of the hate being directed towards bioware over a few achievements. some of you are getting awfully upset over what is essentially just a number that will be displayed in the corner of your dashboard. this is a company that has given us some of the most ambitious and engrossing games of the last 10-15 years. cut them some slack

I sort of agree with you.  However, this is a company who has done this same mistake before (Origins and Darkspawn Chronicles).  It is even more frustrating to have the mistake associated with paid DLC that's availble ON launch day.  A buggy $7 add-on on release day?  Nothing says cash grab like this.  I wouldn't say I hate BW, but I would like to see the QA/QC staff fired... well, assuming there is one.

cool, one question I might be wrong but the one achievement to meet a agent of the devine that one didn't unlock for me and was wondering if that was also a flawed achievement or a certain rogue from DAO wasn't the agent?

Just one thing. I never had any issues with Origins or any of its DLC

As for the Exiled Prince DLC I got mine for free from pre-order so not realy too big a deal for those who didn't have to pay for it.

As far as I am concerned this first bug I have noticed while playing any bioware game.

It is not just about the achievement issue. It's about the fact that to make the relaese date they eschewed normal protocol and released the game with some very unusual and amateur mistakes.  I would have willingly waited several more months for this game to be released with most  of these issues remedied. You also failed to grasp that the achievement issue is something that has become common place with their games. I loved Mass Effect 1 and 2, along with the Original Dragon Age. This game looks good and some of the mechanics are a welcome addition, but do you really mean to support the decision to re-use dungeons as a good one? I mean at a design level it may be efficient, but from a creative standpoint it is a cop out. Like I said I would have been willing to wait several more months to play through different dungeons and to have my save game data to reflect the current date and time, to be able to complete the "Who needs rescuing?" quest that no one can complete, to look at my recent played game data on xbox live and to have the actual cover displayed. So it's not just about achievements. It has become too common for developers now to release game with some questionable issues only to patch later. Fallout New Vegas is a great example. If I pay 60 bucks to unlock some stupid achievement then that is what I expect. If I pay for content, I expect it to work. That simple. If they decide to includer this stuff and it deosn't work I am not going to say "Hey. it's ok. You guys still made some great games." No, They are a Triple-A develope,r and as such, they should be held to higher standards and to not make an amatuer game of what should be an epic triology of great games that must be played.

Just so everyone knows, we're aware of the fact that the Exiled Prince achievements are currently not unlocking on X360 and have been investigating the potential causes.

Can we get an update on this?  It's been 4 days since you posted and I was curious how your "investigation" is going.  If you want some pointers to possible causes try looking into how this same exact issue happened with the DA1 DLC...  And then make a note so the Bioware team can learn from past mistakes.

The game has been out for over a week and still no word on a simple achievement fix.  I know achievements don't matter for some, but this thread is regarding that and for the people who DO care.

Thank you.

I was just about to do Sebastian's quests again, now on my second playthrough because I didn't get the achievements the first time. Glad to see this post is still up, now I will wait as long as I can, hopefully a patch will come before I finish act 2 again.

I also noticed that one of the "Herbalist's Tasks" missions, the one dealing with the Varterral, is broken as well. When the creature was slain I unlocked the achievement, but was unable to collect anything from the creature's corpse, and the mission remained incomplete. I still cannot get over the reused dungeons in this game. I know that other games have done so, but at least in Oblivion, for example, they were cycling through at least half a dozen models before repeating. I mean the only attempt to do anything different was to simply render a gray block covering the door opening and the use of different entrances or "spawn points" depending on the mission and location. At least erase the inaccessible areas from the mini-map. I thought at first I lacked a certain spell or artifact to get to these areas, when I made the horrifying realization that they were just using the same template. After playing Mass Effect 2 to utter completion, I was excited for this game, so much so, I pre-ordered even, and my expectations are a little crushed. To see what the game is capable of and what they were attempting to do, only makes these mistakes stand-out remarkably.

To be fair, although Bioware has run into this problem before, you can't really test how well achievements will actually work on Xbox Live until the achievements are propagated to Xbox Live. All the internal testing in the world won't guarantee that it'll actually work once it goes live.

It's refreshing to see all your complaints, because after the game is not meant to be enjoyed or anything. I mean making those kind of games are so five years ago, today it's all about tedious achievement hunting.

I like achievements, but if there's any game today that is good enough that a glitched achievement or two--which let me remind you, they are aware of and fixing--makes absolutely no difference it sure as hell is Dragon Age II. (Also Origins and the Mass Effect games, because BioWare make great games.)

It's equally refreshing to see how easily other, legitimate, complaints are overlooked and we are all lumped in with "tedious achievement hunting." My above post clearly outlined several issues regarding the game that went beyond the achievement issue. There are at least 2 quests that have nothing to do with the dlc that are broken. Yes, it will be a great game when fixed.

First of all, blame EA for the game being rushed, as they control that. Second, I agree that it does get kind of old going through the same places over and over, but the game is supposed to be about The Champions rise to power within Kirkwall. Kirkwall is just as important in the game as The Champion himself, and it makes sense that there wouldn't be a ton of different dungeons in and under the city. That fact alone makes the reuse of the environments alright with me. People focus too much on small problems rather than the great parts and aspects of the game that outweigh the problems.
