I'm mildly disappointed, but it's a great game and this issue doesn't detract from it in any way for me.

But Bioware stresses they are working hard to resolve the problem.

Of COURSE they do. That's what PR teams are for, to lie, lie, lie and deny, deny, deny. Looks like it worked on you.
It doesn't matter WHO is responsible for this bug, BIOWARE is the one responsible for testing and making sure EVERYTHING works on day 1.

It's a conspiracy, they're probably planning on syphoning funds out of our bank accounts when we're all browsing the forums raging about how our achievements aren't unlocking.

Damn criminal masterminds.

I will begin my 2nd now. I dont care for the achievements anymore. The game is too good to be left aside:) i expect a reroll of the achievements so we dont have to play more than needed. Same with the golem achievements in Da:o. They just popped during starting the game a while ago

...from my achievement list, it's far more than one not showing up. I am not a person who goes nuts for the symbols and imaginary points...but I loved the look of the trophies for DA:O. I knew I should have waited 2 years like i did for "Origins" Ultimate. No bugs there. Lesson learned.

Wow, you guys are making a really big deal about...achievements. It's a technical glitch, it's not a big deal. There are glitches that affect actual gameplay that I'm much more interested in. Instead of complaining about your arbitrary point system, how about you spend this time enjoying the game? I presume that's what you spent your money for.

@ RevanchistStenn

Why bother replying in this forum that's got everything to do with the achievements being glitched in the Exiled Prince DLC? All you're doing is bashing people who loves achievements, you're only flaming the thread with your nonsens.

Guess who made the achievement system? MICROSOFT. Guess what else? They're a part of 360 games and whether or not Bioware cares for achievements or not, it's part of their future games for microsoft's console and it is no excuse to ignore the issue when it is their fault. I'm not gonna buy the Exiled Prince DLC untill it's fixed, simple as that. I'm not going to hand out 7 dollars for a half assed product because their testing team fails to test it properly.

I play to have fun with games and achievements at the same time, but I'm still not going to pay for something that is broken and should have been fixed from day 1.

@ Bioware, it would be nice to get an update on how long you're in the process of getting the patch done because I'm not the only person holding off on buying the Exiled Prince untill you get your **** together.

I'm not saying the achievement system is worthless. If you look at my file, I'm pretty close to being a completionist myself. But screaming that Bioware is throwing babies into woodchippers because you can't have it unlocked right now is senseless. This does NOT detract from your gaming experience, no amount of entitlement is going to change that. I think it's fair to say hey Bioware, you've dropped this ball a couple times now. But saying "they should give us stuff for free" or "we got ripped off this is BS" is reactionary and foolish. I mean Jesus, especially with this game. They gave us like 90 pieces of DLC just to see if they could. Am I irritated that the achievements are broke? Sure I am, and I checked out this thread to look for an update. But have a little perspective. It's not the end of the world and even if Bioware knew what the problem was right now, there's still the patching process with Xbox that I believe takes minimum two weeks. They know about it, they're working on it, that should be where the ire stops. I've had much bigger glitches in this game that still don't deserve the level of ire I've seen here.

I understand what you're saying Stenn but that it actually takes more than two weeks to get a patch out for a dlc is beyond pathetic. Why Bioware doesn't take their time to make sure the dlc isn't glitched I do not understand because the inevitable results in them using more time on making a patch, than having testers test out their content before releasing it.

Bioware could for the love of gamers, simply reply with an update on their progress instead of making everyone second guess their work.

Those two weeks is on the Microsoft side, on top of however long it takes them to figure out. I agree that this should have been sorted at launch - this is just one of many games I've bought this year that had some kind of at-launch issue (and New Vegas was by far the worst). I'm sure Bioware doesn't have any lack of love for gamers, but that's not really relevant to the business end of things. But hey, it is what it is. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of the game and that's in the end what matters most.

Same here, I'm enjoying the game alot, currently at Act 2, finishing up remaining quests before proceding to the final act. Huge improvement over Origins which everyone seemed to love, I just didn't the same way.

Everyone loved it because it essentially was Knights of the Old Republic, with a fantasy theme.

And back to the main issue.

Did you guys seriously think that something wouldn't go wrong with Day 1 DLC? And who cares if you have to play DA2 over again. I'll still be playing it for a while, slowly perfecting my playthrough until I get my perfect story.

And besides, Bioware makes great games, which are designed to be played multiple times. atleast now you have an extra reason to play. :)

It's reflecting it on this end of the site, so I suspect you won't have to do them over again.

Does bioware even read these or is it merely somewhere for everyone to scream down a hole? I am experiencing the achievement issue and i hope our words don't fall on deaf ears

If you've read the first post by a Bioware Rep you wouldn't even be asking that question. Just give em time, play till you get all but the DLC Achievs and hope for a fast resolution.

Posting in this forum isn't going to help them figure out the bug or get it through approvals any faster.  The fact that they haven't reported anything just shows that they haven't got anything to report.  Also, in the big picture, an achievement bug isn't really a priority as compared to something like the few quest-killing bugs, and finding those is difficult because it involves a seemingly random pile of unknown variables in order to replicate the bug.

In this particular case, it's likely just a case of a flag needing to be set/reset, but at the same time, EA isn't going to fast-track an approval for a patch for only this.  They're going to need something meatier in order to send it to XBL for approvals and upload.

Now, if we had the PC version, it's a completely different story, as those patches don't have the same level of bureaucracy attached to them and there isn't a delivery process that's as convoluted as the one for XBL.  (Although Steam has issues of its own in this regard.)  BioWare can just release those without jumping through hoops.

I'm waiting to download this DLC untill they fixed the achievements. Is it possible to play my second playthrough till act 3 and once the DLC is fixed do all their quests in act 3? Or do the sebastian quest line start in act 1-2?

I simply made a save file prior to the Exiled Prince dlc in Act 2. And also one in the first Act in case it doesn't work in Act 2 which it should because it says Act 1 or Act 2.

Where exactly does one save inorder to get the DLC achievements later? (incase they don't auto pop when bioware fixes this). I really wanna start my second playthrough and cba with waiting for them to fix it...

Also an off topic question; is it possible to go for the "Side with Templars" achievement while playing a mage char?
