after doing some quests in act 2 i started searching through my codex to read the various bits of information. one of the strands i found mentioned xebenkeck, who is a desire demon you must kill to get the exorcist achievement. now in regards to flemeth however after doing the quest i noticed that the codex entry said this...
'The first of the magus cast themselves deep in the Fade in search of answers and power, always power. They found the forbidden ones- Xebenkeck, Imshael, Gaxkang the Unbound, and The Formless One. Many conversations were had and much of the fabric of the world revealed. And thus the magic of blood was born."
this codex entry explains the origins of blood magic, however look at the names of the 4 demons. Xebenkeck we just killed with our hero. Imshael i myself cant remember anything close to that, Gaxkang the unbound we can slay with the warden in origins, leaving the formless one.
flemeth as we know is the witch of the wilds, and a great shapeshifter. the tale of her origin is that she summoned a great demon to get revenge on a lord for slaying her husband. could this Formless One be the demon she summoned? one of the original demons who taught the tevinter mages blood magic?
Flemeth a forbidden one?

Now I wish my alias were imshael instead of ishmael. That's what I get for using an almost-ten-year-old handle, I guess.

@Dom: Nice find. I gotta use my second playthrough to read all the Codexes, instead of just ones that applied to quests/curiosity.

I was really hoping for some sort of answers about her. At least we found out Morrigan isn't her daughter.

That Morrigan wasn't her daughter, we already knew, or what?
Morrigan pretty much says that she isn't Flemeths biological daughter.

Oh, I thought she just said that she never knew. Did she say it in Witch Hunt?

Flemeth is a dalish old god, like Ulthemial (the archdeamon) was before he was corrupted by the Tevinters.

I know right, I don't remember any other morrigan/flemeth mentions in DA2 besides the beginning.
I do know in DAO, when you give morrigan that book, she talks about flemeth and asks you to kill her, which I did lol

When you revive her at Sundermount, at one point you can ask 'This Morrigan, is she your daughter or your greatest enemy?" and Flemeth answers she's neither.

No, Flemeth says that Morrigan isn't sure which she is. As in, sometimes Morrigan behaves like her daughter, other times like her enemy. Morrigan is still her daughter as far as I know.

During Origins the warden can ask Morrigan wether or not she is really the daughter of Flemeth and she answered something like: "You don't have to crawl out of the womb of someone to consider them your mother." Well either it was that or a banter with Leliana.
