I have a few that I switch between. I use Limbtaker in situations where elemental damage is no good, and I alternate between the ones you get from the Awergian Scrolls quests depending on what element I need to be using at any given time.

That's probadly what I will end up doing...as Bioware...it seems didn't wanna give us players an absolute 'blade( or axe or hammer) of the champion' type of weapon in this game. Though the bassrath-kata is pretty close...since the weapon will be shaped by your particular class n wield style...which to me makes it awesome enough to suffice as an ultimate weapon type. The description you gave is also really sweet as well.

I used Limbtaker, because I don't like the war most axes and hammers looked (though I went from Hayden's Razor to the Double Bearded Axe then upgraded to Limbtaker).

I gave Fenris the Sword of Mercy, though.

I'll have to try Celebrant next.

Also, spirit damage halves magic and damage resistance, so it can still be blocked.  Heck, if it triggers magic resistance, too, then it may end up doing less damage (since magic resistance stacks with damage resistance against, well, magic).  Especially against Templars.

k now that all the viewers have seen this...wat is the best longsword in the game. imo i think fadeshear is the strongest im like lvl 45 and it does like 66 dps while other swords are struggling to atleast reach 40 dps can anyone give advice?

How the hell did you get level 45? I was level 22 when I beat the game.

I don't think Bioware thought people would get level 45 or so until much later in the dlc. So theres probably not a better 1 handed weapon for you.

Potions of Heroism give you one level and cost 8 sovereigns.

I had enough to buy 38 of them at the end of the game, which would have put me at the level cap (50), since I ended the game at level 25.

Does anyone know what weapon that Meredith has on her back, in the cutscenes during act 3. I just figured I would ask ....as the hilt looks awesome!

I just kept changing once Hayders Razor became obsolete could never really decide especially as I kept finding Superior Battleaxes with higher base damage.

Anyways, I found what appears to be a good partial list divided into the 3 acts here which may be of use.

You can only buy one of these.
Only way to get to level 45 is the infinite xp/money glitch (google is your friend if you don't already know it) in which case the only weapon in the game that will be of a comparable level is Fadeshear because that's what it does.

If you've finished the game you should know. If you haven't, I'm not telling you.

I found the Bloom axe in sundermount on my way up the mountain on an Arcane horror during the Aweirgan scrolls quest at the very end of act 3.

and I agree I think Bloom, Blade of Mercy, Sundering, Celebant and all those weapons are all around the same level of power and each are good against certain types of enemies, I haven't found a better weapon than these and I discarded Limbtaker for blade of mercy, which evidently looks completely different if you keep it for yourself instead of giving it to Fenris and it's looks way better on you.

So what's the best two handed weapon in the game? Is it like the start of the game? where do i get it?

There is no BiS 2H because bosses have different immunities/weaknesses.  Just keep a few unique weapons handy and test for yourself.

Does the Sundering look like the Void Hammer?
Because the Void Hammer looks bad ass, it looks nothing like a classic maul.
It's very intimidating.

I like the Thunder Damage Hammer. Mainly because it stunns (I guess it is a default property of Thunder Element Damge) on criticals, and when you use AOE attack, everyone is hit by a bolt of lightening from the Sky

There's 2 versions of these top of the range "Superior" weapons. This one and one with +health (or stamina, can't recall) instead of +physical damage.  You can find either version as sword, battleaxe or maul.

EDIT: I think Bloom with 2 cold runes will do more damage (especially with +16% cold damage) so comes down to if you need a huge attack bonus and what you're fighting.

Barbarian's blade had served me well so far. Granted I have only done a small amount of quests in Act 2

The Celebrant is a drop from one of the 'Hidden Lair' quest mobs (unique Revenants) on Sundermount. Quest is triggered by reading a scroll on the ground somewhere just a tad before you walk into the elf camp during Act 3.

Read the scroll, climb the mountain, kill the Arcane Horror that will spawn, then read the scroll that was near it. Continue up the mountain and just past the graveyard/shrine area you'll run into a unique corpse mob and 2 unique revenants.

The 3rd scroll/hidden lair for this quest is somewhere on the Wounded Coast - Central/South areas IIRC. Clear all 3 'hidden lairs' and you get a secretish encounter in Kirkwall.

EDIT: FML dude.. haha.

The Razor is the coolest looking - play on normal so I dont have to change to a more powerful weapon. Style is more important than stats - but is only me :P

I tend to try and use mauls/hammers most of the time due to their power+knockback ablilty+armour sundering. The 2 coolest looking mauls in this game however were too low in stats/levels to be used for that long. From my perspective, they were Caskheads Portable Anvil and Subtle Brute. Too plain looking for most I am thinking...

I must agree that from a technical point of view, bloom, sundering and limbtaker must be considered top tier choices out of these. Minor differences would argue other weapons are better in some situations, but the stats speak for themselves.
