Hi,
I have a legally purchased copy of the Dragon Age II for PC, bought at Game in Oxford Street, London UK.
I am unable to activate using my Bioware account. No other account has ever been used on this computer and the key successfully registered in my forum profile.
The activation program also intermittently claims I am not connected to the internet. I have set my Norton Internet Security to 'allow' the activation program.
Anyone else had this issue?

When I installed the game yesterday it also failed to activate based on my bioware account (which I'd already added the DA2 key to), so I just entered the DA2 game serial on the next page instead and it activated just fine then. A friend of mine experienced exactly the same situation, so I'm guessing the account-based activation is just not working very well yet.
Have you tried just activating with the serial key yet?
As for it claiming you're not connected to the internet, that could simply be a problem with their system - I remember they had massive issues with DAO as well along the same line - but you could also try temporarily disabling Norton while you run through the activation process, as it's a rather aggressive AV and might still be messing with things even though it's told not to.

Yeah. After it told me it could not activate the game based on the account I clicked on 'Enter Product Key' but it just hangs (shows wheel endlessly) or alternatively insists I am not connected to the internet.

Try Installing the beta patch.

Ok - I installed the patch. Same issue. On the activation screen, I give it my email and password - says it was not able to activate using my account. So I click 'enter activation key' and as I write this it has been five minutes and the wheel is still turning.

It does sound like a connection issue, like the installer is failign to properly contact the server to verify the validity of your key. As suggested try disabling both the firewall and norton, to make sure that nothing is blocking the installer from contacting the EA servers.

Tried disabling the firewall. No dice. Still not fixed
Put in a support ticket. I will wait for that I suppose.
