 I completed the campaign but when I tried to import my character it didn't seem to add my paragon points to my character in the new game. Is it just that they come later on or am I missing something.

NG+, the Paragon and Renegade bars are ZERO (just like the Xbox version). Paragon/Renegade points, all upgrades and the Kassa Locus do NOT carry forward to a NG+; heavy weapons do, but only after you are on the Normandy.
