Okay. Just getting into the game now, but I'm royally annoyed...

I've set the tactics up on my party members like I did in DA:O. Enemy > Attack Nearest Visible. Problem is, they don't. I just had Aveline standing next to an archer doing nothing whilst she got filled with arrows. I switched over to her, right click attack on the archer, switched back. She attacked once, then stood there again. I'm fairly certain this isn't supposed to happen, so what the hell?

probably a bug, reload. while I haven't noticed any actual companions do it my summoned Mabari does sometimes.

Hmmm... Kk. At least I know I'm not imagining it. If it keeps on happening I'll post it as a bug in the tech section.

Hmm, I really never noticed as I like have to micro-manage the battles. Since I am playing on nightmare mode, I want to be sure the correct abilities are being used. I will see if I have the same issues though. Have you set (for example) Aveline to be "aggressive" in the tactics settings?

Yup... I initially set everyone to Passive, and then did the Attack Nearest tactic, so when they didn't attack nearest, I changed it to Aggressive - no difference. I'll try going through all the pre-sets (Defender/Tank/Whatever), before I post in the tech section.

yah this too..double check everything on the tactics page not just the actual tactics themselves..make sure if you want them attacking on site that they're set up to...there's a couple (at least) that only have the companion follow their tactic trees if they're getting attacked directly.

Solved it.

Switched them over to Tank. Didn't think that it would make any difference, but Aveline's runnign around like a crazy thing, killing everyone. Thanks for the help.

Cool, I guess I should have mentioned that as Aveline is defaulted to "tank". I just played a couple battles and she plays according to the tactics. Anyway, glad it worked out as that would be frustrating.

Yeah I saw that problem too. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check that Tank mode.
