"winter grasp" specialization:
  • Freeze chance: 100% vs. normal enemies
  • BRITTLE chance: 40% vs. frozen targets
"elemental mastery":
  • BRITTLE chance: 100% vs. frozen targets
is it better to get directly Elemental Mastery? or the specialization? Because I want to have 100% brittle, but maybe it is not worth it. :(
If I wasn't obliged to take the awful  fire spells that I didn't want, that would be no problem, but I feel kind of obliged if I want to fight with my ice spells more to do a decent damage. I am confused :(

Basically you need both. Winter's Grasp specialization gives you a chance to freeze the target at all. If the target is frozen, 40% of the time it also becomes Brittle. With the tree spec, if the target is frozen, it will also always become Brittle.

You might consider the Primal tree rather than Elemental - it's better in almost every way.
