So I know Carver leaves your party during the course of the deep roads expedition. Do you get what you've equipped him with back when he does so? I'd like to give an amulet he's wearing to Fenris, if possible.

What? he just leaves? I thought sibling either 1) be killed by darkspawn taint or 2) be a greywarden if Anders presented if he/she joined to the expedition.

If you don't take the sibling with you to the deep roads, they leave. Carver joins the templars and Bethany is found by (and forced into) the circle of magi.

Wait...what? You can save them and make them a Grey Warden if Anders is with you on the expedition? Did you get this in the game or was this something you heard/read?

I played the deep roads twice. I didn't try with Anders and Bethany though, now I wish I would have. I ended up keeping the save that let her go to the Magi just because I felt bad she died.

Reminds me of the Penny Arcade comic where Tycho was all pissed Alistair left with his Warden Commander DLC armor.
Either way though, your sibling seemingly leaves and doesn't come back into the party until literally the last quest.

Would you really want Carver as a Warden?
I think not, for the exact reasons and then some that Av didn't let him into the City Guard. I wanted him dead more times than alive, and that's sad to have to say about ones own 'little' brother.

I always just let Carver join the Templars or kill him. Templars being just as bad as dead (sometimes worse), what with the lyrium addiction.

No, this actually happens in game. If Anders is in the party when your sibling gets the taint, he will comment on how he recalls a group of Wardens were planning on entering the Deep Roads. If you pick the option of trying to find them, you'll have to battle a group of Darkspawn or two before you encounter them. They're a bit reluctant, but they will eventually agree to take Carver or Bethany with them.
Note that none of the Wardens are familiar ones. I was secretly hoping Nathaniel would be among them, but boo. :<

I've heard that if Alistair isn't dead or on the throne he can actually show up with that group of Gray Wardens, but in my import Alistair is king so I haven't been able to verify.
