I have a problem, in that when I first started playing the game I downloaded the Black Emporium DLC before starting a new game, and I played when I was online - everything worked fine. Now, however, I don't have access to the internet on my xbox, and whenever I try to play the game, in addition to the little box that says it can't log in to the servers, it also says that the DLC is corrupt, and I need to redownload. This was not an issue and did not appear when I played while online and connected to the DA servers. It's pretty frustrating, because I'm already 12 hours or so into the game, and it really sucks if I can't play at all as long as I'm offline. Connecting it to the internet is not a solution, as I don't have access to it at all anymore for my xbox. Is the DLC really set up so that it can't be used as long as the console is offline?

That question doesn't really belong in this topic, but I used the code that came with the game. If you don't have that, you just have to download it in the xbox Marketplace.

i have the same problem with the black emporium and also the exiled prince. when i went back to the title screen after i went offline it said both were corrupted. but i had played a little of it while online, so when i tried loading my save offline it said the my save files were corrupted and i had to start a new game( which really sucked).

Yeah, that was my exact problem as well. That sucks really, really bad. Why would they make a single player game that you can't play offline (and no, playing without the DLC doesn't count. It's part of the game, and it came with it when I bought it, so I damn well am going to expect being able to play it.)

I'm bumping again. Can anyone at least provide some confirmation, is it supposed to work like this? Am I going to be unable to play offline at all as long as I have DLC I want to use?

If this is the case then Bioware/EA should have warned us that was the case, before we plop $60 down on a game that we can't even play in its entirety. Does this apply only to Exiled Prince and Black Emporium, or are you unable to access promotional items as well?

If you start a new game while offline does that work or does it give the same error?

It doesn't affect the promotional items, only the DLC (I don't have the Exiled Prince, so I don't know about that one).
And, yes, I have tried starting a new game. It doesn't do much good, though, because the Black Emporium comes up corrupted, so it's not in the game at all if I start a new one offline. The weird thing is that the save game itself isn't corrupted, and it doesn't seem as if the DLC is either, both works perfectly if I'm online - the issue is just when I tried to play offline. I haven't tried downloading the DLC again, because I don't have access to internet on my xbox, so this sucks pretty bad if I'll end up not only losing a file I've placed a lot of hours in, but never actually being able to play the DLC unless connected.

I have the same problem. Says the DLC is corrupt offline, and also won't work on my brother's profile on my Xbox (same Xbox, but he doesn't have Live). One odd thing is that everything was working fine for multiple days of game play, then it stopped working today. Now it says Black Emporium and the exiled prince are corrupted and all the saves on my Xbox don't work.

If it's related to the many offline-DLC issues from DA1, deleting all your DLC then re-downloading the files (especially in a different order than you did the first time) may fix it.

I tried doing that twice now. Still has the same problem. I didn't try the different order, but will do so, and update if it works.

Following David Hingtgen's advice, clearing cache after deleting both, and re-downloading after starting Dragon age II and connecting to the EA server worked.

I'm hoping the first patch brings a permanent solution to this. I've been holding off on redeeming my DLC codes because I can't download from home.

I think it might have something to do with the online pass/ account link. My brother has been playing Dragon Age 2 for a few days now and was near the end of the game. He had both the Black Emporium and extra character available to him because it was on the hard drive (Different profiles on the same Xbox with mine the primary.
Today he jumped back on and it said the data was corrupted, and could not get to any of his saves. We tried playing offline, deleting and re-downloading, and all the other tricks to no avail. It was only after taking his profile online and downloading both dlc's to his account did every thing start working.
***After finding that out we popped in Mass Effect 2 again, and the same problems happened, every single piece of dlc content was corrupted and he could not access his save files despite completing the main game and all dlc numerous times. We are looking for our copy of Dragon Age 1 curious if we will have a similar issue.

According to another thread, even if Bioware released a patch tomorrow, Microsoft wouldn't approve/certify/upload it to Live for 2-3 weeks. Or in otherwords, if they'd fixed it on release day, we still couldn't download it.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a patch for a month at the very least, and looking at Bioware's track record with this sort of stuff, I'd get ready for a considerably longer wait than that if I were you. They took nearly 9 months to patch DA:O and even then many issues were never resolved.
I have this same issue, btw. I just consider myself fortunate that constant internet access is not an issue for me.

Yeah, I'm bumping this again. I've tried redownloading several times; and it's the exact same issue. As long as I'm connected, everything works (both DLCs), but as soon as I try playing offline, the DLCs somehow becomes corrupt. If I connect online again, they and all my saves work just fine. I don't have any other profiles on the xbox, mine is the only one, so I can't figure out what the problem is. I never had this problem on DA:O ME1 or ME2, and I have all the DLCs for all those games. I'm going to try clearing my cache and basically start from scratch with everything tomorrow, but I get the feeling my saves are basically lost. Even if it works, I'm not sure I want to risk attempting to play on those "online" saves and maybe corrupt the DLCs again.
