 Hi.

I assume that Bioware will eventually release a patch (or more).
Does anybody know will the patch optimise the game or just fix bugs.

My specs are:
Nvidia GTX 275
Intel Q8300 4x2.4Ghz
3 GB RAM

and I can't turn on AA because when I do I'm watching a slideshow :(

Just a thought.

Make sure you are *not* connected to your account while playing. If you are and suddenly the game has trouble connecting to the servers due to them being busy, it'll turn the gaming experience into a slideshow regardless of your hardware.

Far more likely that a patch will go after bugs. If you are having trouble with running the game, driver updates (there's a beta driver for nvidia cards that helps with DA2) and changing the settings to get what works best for you is a good place to start. If you're having troubles, check out the PC Tech forum for DA2 to get extra advice specific to this sort of problem.

Thanks, I forgot to do that.
It helped with framerate but it's still sad how unoptimised the game is.
Other than that, I LOVE IT!

I hope Bioware is reading everyone's complaints in the PC technical help section, bugs are really ruining my experience

after they fix most of the bugs, I hope they address gameplay issues, like nightmare being stupidly hard early on and much too easy later on. and certain skills and skilltrees being really weak compared to others.

And they should put honest recommended system req. I mean my PC is far beyond recomended system req and the best I can do is High graphics and 16x anisotropic filtering. No antialiasing, no vsync, no ambient occlusion and I can't even dream about high-res texture pack.

On my current settings game looks like Assassin's Creed 1.

Hey all try going into the dragonage.ini - look for option that has trilinear in in and set to 1 instead of 0 and tripple buffering set it to 1 instead of zero - doubled my framerate on very high settings

That will only be usefull to people with GPU's that support Trilinear + Tripple Buffering

I editied the .ini and noticed a slight bump in fps, but not enough to make very high settings a viable option. Using beta driver btw.
What does it say that lowering resolution has absolutely no impact on performance? I tried lowering to 800x600 with settings on very high, vsync off, aa off, af off, but with all the checkboxes checked, and it was still unplayable. It's the only game I can think of where changing the res did nothing for gameplay improvement.

I do hope they fix all the bugs fast. It fells like the game was released a month to early. And the Biggest most anoing bug i found is this.

You leanr some skills- Then use the item to reset talents. Now suprise. All the talents you had in your "tactics" will still be cast. Event if you didint learn them again. Basicly you can have 2 times more skills all the time -_-. Bioware patch plix

I've encountered worse. And I have the Xbox 360 version here. I encountered bugs through out the whole game, though nothing game breaking. But it did make the game less enjoyable. Expecially near the end where I was fighting Half Invisible bosses, and enemies I couldnt see or attack at all, with the awesome Blank Textures on everything -.-

I have found So Many Bugs In Dragon Age 2 After completeing the game 1 time that i went back to Dragon age orgins because it is 2 frustrating to do a second play through till they release a fix.
below are a list of some of the bugs ive found
1) with music off, a battle brings up music and after a battle the dialog volume is lowered dramaticly and resets to normal 30sec after.
2) quest dialog options without the quest being completed or actions not have happened yet.

Hope they release a patch soon.

Well, it happend to me a couple of times and I brought up task menager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and it minimizes the game.
When I maxed i again it was fine...
The process takes bout 10 seconds, hope it helped.

P.S.
You have a nvidia graphic card, don't you?

Aye, the freezing issue is an issue with some kind of nvidia incompatibility with the newest drivers. Roll back your drivers and/or wait for another driver patch or game patch. Rolling back so far has worked for everyone I've seen, including me. :P

Please don't resurrect month-old threads. Technical issues should be posted to the appropriate Technical forum. Thank you.

End of line.
