Lockups/Freezes, how to stop these? Sometimes even a crash occurs due to the freeze lag.

Hi y'all, i'm a complete PC noob so i hope someone wiser can assist me with my dilemmas with locksup/freezes/crashes.

Here's my PC stats:

Clock Speed: 2918 MHz
Physical Memory: 5,92 GB

My playthru has high graphics rate with no anti-aliasing, aspect radio is 16:10 and the screen mode is 1680x1050
Vertical Sync is on and i play in full screen.

Although some people have complained that I go over their heads, I do try to answer, but really need more information than you offered so far. Please follow my directions here, and expand on the information, and then I will get back to you.

1. What is the nature of the problem you are seeing?

My PC frozes sometimes during a cutscene or a long fight, this might also start happening if i've played for a few hours straight.

2. When did the problem start occurring?
Example: Seems to depend how much i've played.
3. Where does your problem occur?
Example: Entire game.
4. What are the steps in replicating the problem?
Eh nothing, i usually just alt tab or wait for the freezes to go away.
5. Have you modified your game in any way?

Nope!

PS. Do i need to give out more information or is this enough Gorath? Thanks alot for reading! Also i seem to loose the connection to Bioware servers due to the alt tab.

I do need your graphics driver's ID and date, yes. Also, have you gotten the Windows 7 Service Pack yet?

As of right now, the latest nVIDIA driver with the official Microsoft WHQL, or whatever the "Approved" stamp's Acronym happens to be, isn't good enough for DA2. You need a "Beta" version, which is stored with the archived drivers.
