I need to do a couple of things different my second time 'round:

1) Kill Anders before he goes all blowy uppy, which I know is impossible
2) Become Viscount
3) Return the relic to the Arishok
4) Kill Isabela after
5) Get an armor change for everyone

So, I need help with 3 and 4 (and 5, but let's not discuss that here). How do I get the book from Isabela, turn it in to the Arishok and kill her after?

I think if Isabella is high enough to like you, she comes back and gives him the book at end of 2. You get a choice of letting him take her along with the book, but i dont know if you can kill her at that point.

1 - Impossible, Anders did not blow up. Someone set us up the bomb. Ha ha ha.
2- Become Viscount is easy, I in fact reloaded my last save before I made the final 'mages' or 'templar' after you get the letter the last time, and picking 'Templar' where you go through town killing mages makes you Viscount.
3 - Befriend Isabela, when the time comes to pick her or Aveline's prisoner elves, pick Isabela. When Isabela asks you if you'll give her the relic, you say yes. She leaves and takes the book, but she comes back.
4- Didn't try this, it's possible to give her to the Arishok when she brings back the book. (Not sure.)
5 - Armor change only happened for Anders and Merril for me, weird. I wanna try that too but I think it's tied to romances only.

1) I C WAT U DID THAR
2) Yeah that's my plan. I want to see if I can side with the Templars as a mage. Should be interesting.
3 and 4) Okay. So be friendly, invite her to come back aaaand... GOTCHA!
5) Yeah, the same for me. I'm hoping it's not romance only. I wonder how you're supposed to do it for Aveline or Varric.

Not sure about Aveline. I managed to fully upgrade Varric's armor though, during the "Haunted" mission. Basically, Varric was a crappy realtor and "neglected to mention" all of the people that died in the house he sold. >_> If you don't destroy the item you find, it'll complete his armor.

You don't need to say you'll give the relic to Isabela. I told her straight I'll give it to the Arishok and she still came back.

How so?  I read a list of all the companion armor peices, and that quest isn't mentioned.  Is it like a special alternate upgrade or what?

It's not the same as buying or finding upgrades for them. This changes the appearance of their armor.

So does Isabela return if you are her rival? I need to avoid the glitch where befriending her lowers your attack speed, but I also want to return the Qunari relic...

She does, you just need to go above 50 of either side.

Varric's and Sebastian's armor never change, and Isabela's, Merril's and Fenris' armor change only if you romance them.

Varric's does change after the haunted quest. I let him keep the shard.

I'm guessing that Isabela's will change if you let her complete her quest as she wanted to. I couldn't let her do that so I'm not sure.

How does his armor change? I just checked the wiki and it says it never changes, and Isabela's changes only if she is romanced.

Just so you know, if you give Isabela to the Arishok then later Varric says that three days later she escapes with the relic, i am warning you because i was disappointed about how this decision was made meaningless by bioware a few seconds after you made it.

Verric's armor never change. The Shard of the Idol gives Bianca 3 Rune Slots, I don't think it change his armor at all.

Did she steal the Relic? or a "gamlook" version of the Relic? :)
