After beating Dragon Age 2 yesterday I came out quite impressed and looking forward to Dragon Age 3...
Awesome I game, and I totally agree with gametrailers of it deserving a 9.2...
Anyways besides that.. from the improvements about character customization from Orgins I have some things to note as well as other stuff:
+ Character customization brough backfamiliar assets such as hair types etc.
+ Differences in body sizes, Quanari are big and husky, Dwarves remain short, humans rather tall, and elves are more scrawny.
+ Higher res model compared to Origins
+ Able to respec and change your characters facial features.
+ Faster paced battles
+ Dead Space Rig and Blood Armor brings back nostalgia from other EA Games, what about Mass Effect nostalgia, n7 armor?
+New dialogue options, icons telling what your character will do.
+Holding analogue to slect a choice and selecting prevents accidental choice selections.
+Story is superb, excellently told, but sometimes delayed by mundane tasks (Artifical extention of game)
- Features of default Hawk are not selectable ie) Scar on face, hair type etc.
- After customizing my character and in cutscene I noticed that the teeth were much larger than they are in retrospect in comparison to the other facial features. ie) Big teeth small mouth. (Mouth with can not be changed (fixed size).
-Still found limiting hair selections, noses, and eyes... I tend to find that characters I found in the games, NPCs were exact dupes of me.
-animations for mages feels duped. Standard sttacks should have several different animations.
-Need of more treasure chest, and bigger treasure chest.
-Caves that were previosuly vistsed weren't marked on the mini map (the mini map is a god sent), would be nice to have an icon of entrance level.
Hopfully in Dragon Age 3 I can expect:
-some type of multiplayer in a seperate more or integrated ie) Borderlands. Sometimes as I play online I notice others playing DA2 but cannot interact with them in game. I would love to see me and my friend take out a high dragon.
-Social Bioware, being able to follow other members of the community with their choice selection and comparing their own customized characters.
-more enemy varieties, Orgins had a lot, DA2 focussed on within and slightly outside the walls of Kirkwall, more enemy varieties would be nice.
-need something of going into enemy territory instead of invasions from enemies much like lotr and gow2.
-More ogres, dragons, and darkspawn pls.
-play as the warden and the champion of kirkwall in 3!!!
-Areas become mundane, rehashed environments... revisiting the same area multiple times it becomes a chore.
-Side quests become a chore, much like a check lists, standard fetch quests, need more enriched susbstance.
-Be able to review watched cutscenes with your customized character.
-nostalgia was great, old characters coming back.
-MORE SAVE SLOTS, sometimes I don't like resaving over some specified save slots, if I have room for my HDD I should be able to save multiple and many times.
-bring back customized characters of elves and dwarves like in origins.
Other than that the DA2 is an amazing experience. Just outlining some quirks Bioware could fix or update in their next installment.
About character customization...and other things worth noting...
