I've been trying to convert my level to an area for ever now. It keeps telling me that I have no starting area specified for the campain. How can I do this when I can't CONVERT the level INTO a damned area D: I could just cry. lol.

I followed both the wiki's and some tutorials on youtube. And I can't figure out what to do >.< Can anyone enlighten me?

anyone? :(

I followed this tutorial and the only thing that's different is that I've modeled an exterior level. I've re followed the steps again and again and again and I can't figure out why it won't convert it to an area. Is there something else that isn't covered in the tutorial that you need to do for a exterior level?

hit the render lightlamps and tell me if you get any can't find lightlamp atlas or other errors (also tell me if your walls don't copy over)

I think you can just make a new area, use one of the default maps already in there, create a waypoint and set that in module->preferences to the campaign starting point. If not, perhaps you need a start point set in the custom level itself.

Eh, I never downloaded the eclipse ray lightmaps.. is that the reason why it refuses to make my level into an area? And making a premade area isn't the issue. It's converting a custom level into a area.



And this isn't an interior room, it's a terrain exterior.

All you do is create a Level. Terrain etc. Press the + define area button etc.



Place a player start.



Place lights.



Render lightmaps (after installing ActivePython 2.5.4.4 32-bit)



Post to Local.

Note: The message your getting says "No starting area specified for campaign." so go to the properties of your module in the Module Manager and choose an Area and a starting Waypoint. Create a temp one if you have to.

that's kinda what I did..Tried installing Activepython and now it's saying eclipseray has failed.

Thanks St4rdog. But I'm starting to think I'm a lost cause. Who knows, maybe I installed eclipse ray lightmapper wrong. I've tried every solution except for manually installing the files? or something like that. Mostly because the instructions are too vague.

Well you shouldn't be trying to install eclipse. It is already installed. What you should be installing is python 2.5.4 plus the win32 extensions. I don't have time to grab the links now, but I will in an hour or so.

Well I downloaded both of those already, plus the lightmapper eclispe ray thing. So I didn't need to download it? ;_; I hope that's my problem, I'll try removing it now.
