Does anyone know if the weapons you use at the beginning of the game when Varric is telling the Seeker the "legend of the Champion" are available for purchase anywhere in the game or if we can even use them ?

Used Hayden's up until The Brother's End, act 2 sword during Blackpowder Courtesy. Hated giving it up.

The only one I found was at the end of Bartrand's mansion for the second time, when I refused to let Varric keep a piece of the Lyrium. Sandal turned it into an attack speed rune.

Thank you. That's what I thought but wasn't sure. I let Varric keep it though and finnished the game. Wont make that mistake again.

Superior Ironwood Warblade isn't bad. Stats are 47 physical damage 77 per second +56 health + 5% physical damage 50% chance to reduce enemy damage by 15% requires 43 strength.

I think the Potency sword you get from the Fool's Gold quest is pretty awesome, its hard for me to give it up... . It looks pretty decent and its the only sword I've found that increases Critcal Chance percentage.

Why are we debating the realism of a sword's size, when no matter how big or small a weapon is, it just mystically attaches itself to our Champion's back with no sheath or harness required?

Priorities, people. Jeez.

I like unrealistically large 2h swords.

Also, I can't believe there's still no Champion's Sword (as shown in the class/gender selection screen at the beginning).

Clearly, the answer is velcro that sticks like super glue. 

Also, The Celebrant is another very nice end-game sword that looks pretty natural (or at least as natural as the weapons get in this game).

I use the sword of mercy(which looks the same as the pic of Red grace on the first page) and it has better stats then her song in my opinion(in fact the stats are different then what my guide book gave for it).
it has 38 physical damage, +145 attack,+5% attack speed and two Rune slots which I used to increase it's critcal chance and added the rune of Devastion.

It would appear it has different stats based on whether or not he keeps it or makes you take it back. So given the right circumstances, yes it has 38 phys damage. Did not know that at the time of my post. (:

The elves, the Qunari, the armor and the weapons went the way of Final Fantasy in this one. I know EA will understand that consolers love that kind of stuff and will make them even more silly in the next one.
